Fun Fact: Statistically speaking paintball is one of the safest extreme sports on the planet providing you follow safety precautions such as velocity limits, eye protection and using what is known as a barrel blocking device to prevent accidental discharges. Providing you are playing on a properly set up paintball field you will find paintball a safe, fun and exhilarating experience.

Interesting Fact:
Some people think freezing paintballs turns them into tiny cannonballs of doom. It doesn't. It turns them into expensive garbage.
Why is that?
Paintballs are basically little balls of gelatin filled with paint made from polyethylene glycol. Think of them like Jell-O. What happens when you put Jell-O in the freezer? Does it become a bowling ball? No. It becomes weird, sad, and slightly traumatic. The shell gets brittle, while the paint inside turns into thick, slushy goo. Instead of becoming harder, the whole thing just loses its balance.
What Really Happens?
You load your frozen paintballs. You pull the trigger.
POP!
Congratulations you've just decorated the inside of your paintball marker instead of your opponent.
The brittle shell explodes in the barrel, coating everything in sticky goo. Now you're not playing paintball anymore you're cleaning paintball.

So here it is. Freezing paintballs does not work =)

Interesting fact: The "no headshots" rule at some paintball fields isn't actually about safety—it's about the money. Fields claim it's a safety measure, but the real goal is to keep players fully visible so everyone can shoot at each other more often, burning through paintballs. In fact, no professional paintball league disallows headshots.
