Varushca, Dance Space simply would not be what it is without you. From the early mornings and late nights to the countless moments no one else sees, you give everything you have to our studio, our dancers, our teachers and our families. You are the calm in the chaos, the person who always has a plan and the one who somehow keeps us all moving in the right direction—usually with a little sparkle and plenty of laughter along the way! ✨

But you are so much more than our Studio Manager. You are our biggest supporter, our problem-solver, our safe place and such a treasured part of our family. Your kindness, strength and generosity touch everyone around you, and we hope you know just how loved and appreciated you truly are.

Now the real magic begins…

After all the focus, dedication, nerves, excitement, and hard work of exam season, it’s time to step into a brand-new term filled with creativity, performance energy, and show-time sparkle!

As we head into Term 3, our dancers begin shifting their focus toward something very special — our Term 4 Annual Show!

The countdown to the stage is officially on, and we cannot wait to see our dancers bring the magic, confidence, personality, and joy of Dance Space to life in front of their whānau and friends.

This term is where the show journey truly begins.

Think performance preparation, new goals, big energy, teamwork, storytelling, stage presence, and confidence building both on and off the stage.

It is also the term where our incredible teachers get to pour their creativity, passion, and imagination into each class — creating moments that allow every dancer to shine in their own special way.

This is what dance is all about: expression, connection, growth, courage, joy, and community.

Term 3 is all about heart, sparkle, creativity, and bringing the magic together… and we are so ready for it!

The car ride home is part of dance class.
Your child walks out of the studio carrying more than a dance bag.
They may be carrying pride because they finally got something that has been difficult.
They may be carrying disappointment because they made a mistake.
They may be quiet because they were corrected.
They may be excited because they felt confident for the first time.
And then they get into the car with you.
That ride home matters.
It is easy to ask:
“Did your teacher notice you today?”
“Did so-and-so get all the attention again?”
“Who did the teacher compliment?”
“Did you get to stand in the front?”
“Did anything unfair happen?”
But questions like these can quietly teach a child to measure every class by attention, comparison, and where they stood in the room.
Sometimes the questions children need most are much simpler.
“Did you have fun?”
“What did you learn?”
“What are you proud of?”
“Did someone in class inspire you?”
“Do you want to tell me about it, or do you just want to listen to music?”
Parents, you do not have to analyze every class.
You do not have to fix every disappointment.
You do not have to become the dance teacher in the front seat.
Your child already has a dance teacher.
What they need from you is a safe place to land.
A place where one hard class does not become a crisis.
A place where a correction does not feel like rejection.
A place where their value is never connected to how much attention they received, where they stood, or who was praised that day.
The car ride home can protect the joy of dance.
It can build resilience.
It can remind a child that they are loved on the days they shine and on the days they struggle.
Sometimes the most important words a young dancer hears after class are simply:
“I love watching you do something you love.”
