💡 The difference between a dance RECITAL and a dance CONCERT.

These terms get used interchangeably - but what is the actual difference?

🎭 RECITAL:
If you grew up watching US Dance Moms on your screen, you probably call it a "recital." The American "recital" usually means a formal, single-school progress presentation.

🎭 CONCERT/SHOW:
Well, pretty much the same thing - a Kiwi end-of-year show is a dance studio celebrating all that hard work. Whether it's jazz, ballet, hip-hop, or contemporary, it's all about hitting the stage under the lights, showing your family what you've learned, and celebrating the team.

At Bays, our Mid-Year Show and End of Year Concert are important calendar events - because we believe our dancers deserve to experience what it truly feels like to perform. 🩷

Natural ability might give a head start. But it's never the whole story.

What actually makes a great dancer:
