💗 Pink Ribbon Breakfast 💗
The Lions Club of Avondale is putting on a Pink Ribbon Breakfast this August in support of Breast Cancer Foundation NZ .

Most of us know someone who’s been through it in some way — and this is just a simple way to come together, show a bit of support, and do our part.

Happening today!! Bring the kids along to learn how to play............INDOOR BOWLS, DARTS, AND POOL!
A Trio of Kids Sports held at The Bowler Every Wednesday 3.30pm-5.30pm!

2 hours of fun learning for your kids and their mates. Get them playing darts, pool, or indoor bowls with us every Wednesday 3.30pm-5.30pm, and they could one day become a national champion!

Bring your kids along to learn how to play each sport and get them earning their stripes.

FOR AGES 6-14 YEARS OLD
Enter by themselves or in teams of 2!

There will be certain rules per sport to comply with, once mastered, they will get a stamp by their name. Master them all and get a gold 🌟

We will then run an indoor competition when we have enough qualified "Gold Star" and confident players. These gold stars will have your kids qualified enough to play outside of these hours with a parent or on our prized greens when the season starts back up!

Come every week and have your kids earn their gold stars and right to play with the big guns!

Our wonderful community gardens, Growing Point, held their book launch at the club last Thursday!
"Te Taonga o Ngā Kūmara" which showcases 16 varieties of kūmara that they have been growing and caring for in that magical piece of paradise in between the bowling club and tennis club.
They raised $400 towards the legal fees to help maintain this precious piece of land that means so much to all of our community, young and old. Awesome work team!

The Warriors will be looking to bounce back after last week's defeat with a big performance against the Gold Coast Titans.

🏆 AGM & Prizegiving 2026 🏆

Great afternoon today, celebrating our Point Chev Bowling Club champions following g the club AGM! Huge congratulations to all our winners:

🥇 Aiden Takarua – President’s Cup winner, and currently ranked 4th best men’s lawn bowler in the world! Aiden couldn’t be there in person, so his mum Shannon proudly accepted the trophy on his behalf.

📈 Tracey Bradshaw – Most Improved Player, a fantastic reflection of a season of hard work and progress.

🎖️ John Petelo – Awarded his 15th title badge, one for every single year he’s been part of the club. What an incredible legacy of consistency and dedication.

🏅 Ian McKenna – Claiming his very first championship title. Well deserved, Ian!

🌟 Kevin Morris and Don Stanaway – Honoured with Life Memberships in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the club over the years.
