Middlemore 5 is one of the more demanding holes on course. A Par 4 stretching to 448 metres off the back tees, where the architecture rewards patience and punishes ambition in equal measure.
The Nicklaus architects designed consequence into this hole deliberately. The fairway placement off the tee dictates everything that follows, and the approach demands precision over power. It is the kind of hole that reveals itself slowly.

The Stewart Gold Cup - Established in 1950 thanks to a generous donation from T.J.B. Stewart, who provided a 100-guinea gold cup to celebrate the expansion of The Grange Golf Club's course, the tournament has become a major fixture in the golf calendar.
Congratulations again to Scott Thrupp who took out this years event.

🏆 2026 Stewart Gold Cup
After 54 holes over the last 2 days, Scott Thrupp has claimed the Stewart Gold Cup for 2026!
Thrupp finished at 4-under par, winning by three shots over defending champion Blair Clark after a compelling final nine holes that went down to the wire. Grant Smith finished third at one-over.
The Stewart Silver Salver was claimed by Shaun Clark from Pakuranga, whose consistency across the full 54 holes earned him a five-under net total and a six-shot victory over Roger Sowman and Gerard Peterson.
Congratulations to Scott and all competitors who took part in this year's tournament.
