Under 18 Tournament – Day 7 Update (Finals)

The final day of the tournament saw our teams wrap up their campaigns, with plenty to be proud of across the week.

Our P1 Men and P1 Women took to the field for their Bronze Medal matches. Both teams finished the tournament in style claiming the bronze medals. With the Men taking a strong 5-1 win over Manawatu and the Women a 2-1 win over Hawke’s Bay. Both teams should be incredibly proud of reaching the medal matches and the determination they showed throughout the tournament.

Our P2 Women played their final pool match today, with the result, 1-1 against Southland, determining both their final pool position and overall tournament placing of 17th.

Our P2 Men had no matches scheduled for today. Following the completion of the remaining pool games, they finished the tournament in 19th position.

All teams have shown great growth throughout the week and gained valuable experience against strong opposition.

A huge congratulations to all of our players, coaches, managers, officials, and supporters for a fantastic tournament. Thank you to everyone who has followed along and supported our teams throughout the week.

Under 18 Tournament – Day 6 Update

It was Semi-Final day for our P1 teams, and while the results didn't quite go our way, both teams can be incredibly proud of their performances.

Our P1 Men battled hard, drawing at full time before narrowly going down in a shootout. Our P1 Women also put in a determined performance but were edged 1–0 in a tightly contested match. Reaching the semi-finals is a fantastic achievement, and both teams now turn their attention to tomorrow's Bronze Medal matches.

Our P2 Women picked up a draw today, which keeps them at the top of their pool heading into their final match tomorrow. A big performance will see them finish the tournament on a high.

Our P2 Men had two tough matches today to end their tournament. Despite the results not falling their way, they've had a positive tournament with plenty of valuable learning and development. Tomorrow's remaining pool matches will determine their final tournament placing.

One more day to go. Let's finish the tournament strong!

Under 18 Tournament – Day 5 Update

Another fantastic day for our teams, with plenty of success across the board!

Both P1 sides secured impressive quarter-final wins to book their places in tomorrow's semi-finals. Both teams will face Canterbury in what promises to be two top-quality matches against strong opposition. We can't wait to see our players take on the challenge.

Our P2 teams continued their excellent form, with the P2 Women recording another win and the P2 Men earning a hard-fought draw. Both teams remain at the top of their respective pool tables and have put themselves in a great position heading into the final stages of the tournament.

Tomorrow will be a big day for our P2 Men as they play their final two pool matches before having Saturday off. The results of those games, along with Saturday's remaining pool fixtures, will determine their final tournament placing.

A special thank you to all our parents, families, and supporters who have travelled to either tournament to cheer on our teams. The definition of Harbour Whānau.

Under 18 Tournament – Day 4 Update

A perfect day for all our teams, with all four sides recording wins!

Our P1 Women and P1 Men continued their unbeaten runs, booking their places in the Top 8 Quarter Finals after another pair of outstanding performances.

There was plenty to celebrate for our P2 Women and P2 Men as well, with both teams claiming their first wins of the tournament. Well deserving of these results.

Another big day awaits tomorrow. Our P1 teams will battle it out in the Quarter Finals, while our P2 teams look to continue their strong form in their remaining pool matches.

A huge thank you to our coaches, managers, and physios for everything you do behind the scenes and for giving our athletes every opportunity to perform at their best!

Under 18 Tournament – Day 3 Update

Our P1 Women enjoyed their bye today, swapping their hockey sticks for golf clubs as they took part in a team activity ahead of the knockout rounds. Meanwhile, our P1 Men secured the top of the table victory to remain unbeaten and finish first in their pool.

Both P1 teams now head into tomorrow's Round of 16 knockout matches, where the competition steps up another level.

Our P2 Men and P2 Women once again produced some strong performances but were unable to secure the results they were chasing. They now move into their respective classification pools, where they will be looking to finish the tournament on a well deserved high.

We look forward to another exciting day of hockey tomorrow as all four teams return to the field.

Under 18 Tournament – Day 2 Update

Our P1 Men and P1 Women continued their unbeaten starts with another pair of impressive victories. The P1 Women have now secured top spot in their pool and will enjoy a bye tomorrow as they book their place in Wednesday's crossover matches.

The results didn't go our way for either of our P2 sides today, but both teams will take valuable experience into their final pool matches tomorrow.

Tomorrow sees our P1 Men take on the other unbeaten team in a top of the table clash, while both our P2 sides have the opportunity to finish pool play on a high and improve their position heading into Wednesday's crossover matches.

Under 18 Tournament – Day 1 Update

U18 Tournament week is officially underway!

A strong opening day saw our P1 Men and P1 Women start their campaigns with convincing wins, while our P2 Men and P2 Women showed plenty of fight and got themselves on the scoreboard in their opening matches.

We are back tomorrow for another full day of pool play as all four teams look to build on today's performances.
