LET’S TALK ABOUT “DANCE MOMS”…

Contrary to popular belief, dance parents aren’t the enemy! They’re an important part of the team.

When a dancer joins your studio, you’re welcoming their whole family into your community. Mums, dads, siblings, grandparents and wider support networks all play an important part in their dance journey.

The goal is to create a triangle of support between the dancer, their family and the studio, with everyone working together for the child’s education and enjoyment.

That relationship starts with intentional, purposeful leadership. When you communicate clearly, listen to feedback and establish respectful boundaries, you build the trust families need to feel confident in your decisions.

It’s also about creating opportunities to connect beyond the classroom. When we take down the “teacher” mask and genuinely get to know our dance families, the entire studio experience becomes more connected, personal and fulfilling.

Are you trying to survey the whole ocean, only skimming the surface? Or have you found the right place to put down your anchor and go deep?

An anchor secures you. ⚓️ It keeps you grounded in what your studio does best, and even when you’re parked in one place, there is still so much you can do with where you are and what you have.

Going deep means focusing on fewer things, but doing them with more purpose, depth and impact. It’s understanding your studio’s core strengths and allowing those to flow through every class, teacher and decision you make.

You don’t need to be everything to everyone. Find your lane, put down your anchor and become truly exceptional and intentional at what makes your studio different.
