Bet you didn’t think THIS is what boxing training looks like.

But yeah.. sometimes it’s the book out, taking notes, actually breaking down what we’re doing before the gloves even go on.

Everyone just wants to train the physical side. Hit the bag, do the rounds, spar. Which is good, you need that. But the guys who actually get better are the ones who take the time to understand what they’re doing and why.

Cause real boxing is basically mental chess. You’re thinking the whole time, constantly adapting to whatever’s in front of you. The best ones aren’t always the fittest or the strongest.. they just understand the technique so well they can pull it out whenever they need it.

So study it first.. then go execute 👇

Be honest.. have you ever actually sat down and studied the game? Or do you just train it?

Sometimes the warm-up becomes the workout.

And that doesn’t mean the session was a failure.

A warm-up isn’t only there to get your heart rate up or prepare you for “peak performance.”

It’s also a chance to check in.
How does your body feel?
How are your energy levels?
Have you slept properly?
Are you hydrated?

Is something tight, sore or just not moving well?
Your warm-up should help you decide what kind of training day you’re actually ready for.

Do you push hard?

Do you lower the intensity?

Or do you accept that today might be a recovery day?
When we filmed this, Elle and I were completely cooked after the warm-up. We managed one or two rounds on the bag and then decided to call it.

No guilt. No forcing it. No pretending it was a great session.
Some days you push harder. Some days you pull back.

The goal isn’t to win every workout.

The goal is to stay consistent long enough for the work to compound.

Would you have pushed through or called it for the day?

Rotation is only 50% of the equation. 🥊

If you aren’t transferring your body weight efficiently, you’re leaving massive power on the table.

Think about it: whether it’s a straight cross, a heavy roundhouse, or a sharp elbow, force comes down to how much mass you can launch behind the target. (There’s a reason weight classes exist!)

💡 BONUS: Proper weight shifting doubles as defense. When done right, your head naturally slips off the centerline, making you a moving target while delivering maximum damage.

👇 Which technique do you feel needs the most work with weight transfer?

1️⃣ The straight cross
2️⃣ The lead hook
3️⃣ Kicks/Elbows

The secret to real punching power? Rotation. 🌪️

Boxers don’t hit hard just because they have strong arms—they use a process called kinetic linking to transfer power from the ground all the way into their fists.

Just look at in this video!

The growth she has shown since she first started showing up is nothing short of incredible. She has gotten so fundamentally strong, and her boxing technique is absolutely lethal now because she’s mastered this exact rotation.

Want to punch like her?

Try this cue next time you train:
🥊 “Hide the shoulder.” When you throw a punch, twist your torso enough to hide your opposite shoulder. It forces your whole body into the strike.

🗓️ PART 2 DROPS TOMORROW. We are breaking down the second concept to unlock knockout power. Hit that follow button so you don’t miss it!

Stop fighting straight in front of them. This isn’t a brawl, it’s a game of angles. 🧠

So the whole point of angles is it takes the “fight” out of the fight.

Instead of it being about who’s got the most heart, strength, cardio or will.. it turns into a game of advantages vs disadvantages. And how much of an advantage you actually get comes down to one thing - how shallow or deep the angle is.

Shallow angles are quick. They don’t ask much of your cardio or precision, and they’re great for getting out of a bad spot fast. Only downside is they don’t really hand you a big advantage.

Deep angles are the opposite. Harder to pull off - they take more cardio and way more precision to get right. But when you do, you completely shut your opponents attack down until they reset. And that’s where you get a HUGE opportunity to do damage.

Play with both and see what works better for you 👇

Where the head goes, the body follows.

By aiming for the elbow-to-wrist pocket vs. the elbow-to-armpit pocket, you dictate whether you’re fighting at long range or staying in the pocket at close range.

Which one are you choosing for your style? Let’s talk in the comments.

If you’re struggling with the ex*****on, go watch yesterday’s video for the missing key. Tomorrow we break down the pros and cons, so stay tuned!

How do you handle aggressive hookers? 👀

Most people just duck and cover. But if you want to turn their weapon against them, you need to use this lvl 2 roll.

By keeping your lead leg loaded, you free up your back foot to step offline effortlessly. Not only are you avoiding the punch but you’re also in a great position to attack your opponent with little fear of them retaliating back.

Next video il go into more depth on how you can enhance this roll even further.

The subtleties in boxing matter. A simple change can make everything “click.” This is why boxing is known as the “sweet science”.

There are many sports out there where you need inches to win. But in boxing, we play by seconds and inches, repeating this process through thousands of micro-exchanges between two fighters.

In this clip, we demonstrate this with one simple correction. Elle was technically rolling under my hooks before, but she needed to think about “switching her shoulders”.

Doing this didn’t just make her rolling technique faster and more efficient—it also perfectly set up her next shot. Her overall flow became continuous instead of blocky.

Think about some of the small subtleties you could work on to improve your boxing.

If your shadowboxing is lazy, your sparring is going to be lazy too. 🥊

Stop just throwing random punches at the air and hoping you’ll get better. If you want to be fast, sharp, and explosive when it actually counts, you have to bring that exact same energy to your training rounds.

Here are the 3 keys to fixing your shadowboxing once and for all. Take these into your next session.

Which one of these do you need to work on the most? Let me know. 👇

The biggest mistake I see boxers make before they even step in the ring... 🛑

Most people treat shadowboxing as a warm-up or an afterthought. Big mistake.

It’s the closest thing you have to a laboratory for your movement. When Dinindu first started, it wasn’t clean—and it shouldn’t be.
But consistency and real focus change everything.

How long have you been boxing? Let me know in the comments. 👇
