A huge thank you to the team Plumbing Wizards NZ who came to our rescue today!
When the truck delivering our new goals couldn't make it through the main entrance to Wainoni Park, a mountain of heavy boxes had to be unloaded in the playground car park. With no one around to help, the Plumbing Wizards team dropped everything, loaded the boxes into their mobile workshops, and transported them up to our clubrooms.
Our new goals are now safely stored, ready for assembly. Clearly this Greenhithe business works magic on more than just plumbing! Thanks again Plumbing Wizards!

TEAM OF THE WEEK: PHANTOMS
Despite being hit by injuries and absences, the U11 Phantoms earned a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Albany at the weekend. It was a fantastic end to the first half of the season, in which the team has grown week-on-week â and coach Stu Hartley couldn't be prouder.
"The boys represent the club with true professionalism and the spirit that we are so proud of at GFC," he said.
Thanks to our friends at The Malt Greenhithe, every member of The Phantoms wins a kids' pizza and drink voucher.

Saturday July 4 is a big day at Wainoni Park!
As well as having our regular games, we're excited to be hosting the first NRF Junior Festival of the season, with the U12/13 Girls taking to the pitch from 11am.
With many teams and supporters expected, if you have a game starting from 10am onwards, please allow extra time for parking. If you can, consider parking a little further away and walking in via the pathways from Roland Road, Te Wharau Drive or Greenhithe Road to help ease congestion.
While you're here, please support our local Scout group, who will be running a fundraising sausage sizzle (with bacon butties too!). We'll also have a coffee cart at the fields, along with cold drinks and snacks available from the club kitchen.
See you there!

THUMBS UP AWARD WINNER: INDI KENNEDY
Congratulations to Indi Kennedy, our latest Thumbs Up Award recipient!

The Thumbs Up Award recognises people who make a difference at Greenhithe FC, and Indi showed you're never too young to lend a hand.
đ Thanks to the generous support of The Malt Greenhithe; BP 2go Motor Centre, 48 Northcote Rd; Broderick Printing & Design Ltd; The Collins Cafe and Bar; and The Red Fort Indian Restaurant & Bar Indi receives a prize pack valued at around $90.

We're delighted that one of our youngest squads, the Grade 5 Thunderbolts, take out this week's prize!

TEAM OF THE WEEK: SAMURAI!
Following disappointment the previous weekend, the 10th grade Samurai responded brilliantly, working hard at training and putting those lessons into action on game day. Their teamwork, determination and work rate were outstanding, both in attack and defence.
The coaching challenge on Saturday was simple: leave the field knowing you couldn't have given any more. By full time, every player had done exactly that, earning a hard-fought 5-4 victory in the process.
A fantastic example of resilience, effort and team spirit.
Thanks to The Malt Greenhithe who have pizza and drink vouchers for the whole team.
Find out more about the Samurai and our Team of the Week award in the news section of our website www.greenhithefootball.org
Could it be your team winning next week?

Game changer for Greenhithe! â˝đ
Greenhithe Football Club, run almost entirely by volunteers, has just earned accreditation through New Zealand Footballâs Xero âTogether Strongerâ Club Support Programme.
The milestone reflects months of work strengthening how the club operates off the pitch. Greenhithe committee member Paul Geden, who spearheaded the project, explained it was driven by an awareness that community clubs need to evolve to survive.
âWe realised that to remain a strong and sustainable club, we needed to be more robust in our approach to policies and roles,â he said. âThe âXero Together Strongerâ Programme helped accelerate a journey we had already begun.â
Greenhithe Football Club president Kerrin Thomson is delighted by the accreditation and excited about what comes next. He paid tribute to Gedenâs dedication to the project, which is âhugely appreciated by all.â
âNow itâs about delivering exceptional football experiences for our community,â he added.
Greenhithe Football Club has received a free defibrillator and equipment pack from New Zealand Football to mark its achievement as Northern Region Footballâs 10th accredited club.
