A 14-year-old Auckland tap dancer has won three gold medals at two global dance competitions last month.

Such a treat to have Rhiannon Fairless and Katie Shi back at MEBA during their time in NZ. So inspiring for our students to work alongside Rhiannon (soloist Bayerisches Staatsballett) and Katie (Paris Opera Junior Ballet) 💛

We’ve recently enjoyed hosting a visit from Wendy Tian, who won a short-term tuition scholarship to through her participation in the Claudia Dean Scholarships, earlier this year.

We are so incredibly thrilled for our beautiful former student, Katie Shi, on signing a contract with the Paris Opera Ballet Junior Company!

This is an extraordinary achievement and such a well-deserved honour for an exceptionally talented and incredibly hardworking young dancer.

Katie has just graduated from Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto, where she has spent the past two years refining her artistry and technique. To see her now beginning this exciting new chapter with one of the world’s most prestigious ballet companies is truly inspiring.

We couldn’t be prouder of you, Katie. Watching your dreams become reality has been an absolute joy, and we can’t wait to see everything you achieve in Paris.

A month ago,Ellie Liao, Annie He, Nagisa Yoshida and I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Raise the Barre Princess Grace audition workshops. Ellie attended both the Brisbane and Christchurch workshops, Nagisa attended in Christchurch, and Annie and I attended in Brisbane. We all learned so much from the experience and feel incredibly enriched from participating in and observing the classes taught by Luca Masala and Julieta Martinez. Thank you to Raise the Barre for hosting such a wonderful and inspiring event. We are very grateful for the opportunity. We are thrilled for Ellie who received a direct entry to the Princess Grace Academy Summer School for 2027!

A belated congratulations to Caitlin Caird who received the Jiayin Masterclass Shanghai Immersion scholarship at the wonderful workshop in the April holidays. We are so excited to share that Annie He was chosen as one of the Top 24 in the Pre-Competitive Contemporary section at the Youth America Grand Prix Finals in Houston, USA! This is such an honour, and we are incredibly proud of Annie. We also loved watching her perform her variation, Satanella, so beautifMelody Martinge thank you to Melody Martin for the exquisite contemporary choreography that suits Annie so perfectly 🩷🩷🩷
