MANUKAU SPARTANS

The Manukau Spartans are heading to their third consecutive ARL Ray Cranch Grand Final tomorrow kicking off at 3pm at Cornwall Park.

Three years in a row isn't luck. It isn't coincidence. It's the result of relentless commitment, sacrifice, and a brotherhood that refuses to break.
This team has been built on loyalty.

Built on showing up when it's hard. Built on countless hours at training, accountability to one another, and a determination to represent with pride every time they pull on the jersey.
When others found excuses, these men found reasons. They turned up. Week after week. Session after session. Together.

A special acknowledgement must go to Pat Hufanga and Stan Mahe, whose dedication, leadership, and unwavering belief in this group have helped shape the culture that drives this team. The hours invested behind the scenes often go unseen, but the results speak for themselves. Their commitment to the players and the club has been instrumental in building a team that continues to succeed week in and week out.

The Spartans don't just represent a team — they represent what Manukau stands for: hard work, resilience, loyalty, and pride.

Now, one final challenge remains.

To our Spartans, know that your club, your families, and your community stand firmly behind you. You've earned the right to be here. Nothing changes.

Three straight Grand Finals. One more job to do.

BLACK HAMMER

This weekend our Manukau Black Hammer face their biggest challenge yet as they take the field in a Home Semi Final with everything on the line.

Without question, this has been one of the most successful campaigns in Black Hammer history. A season built on resilience, hard work, sacrifice and an unwavering commitment to the jersey. Week after week this group has shown what it means to represent Manukau with pride, turning up for each other and leaving nothing in the tank.

The effort-on-effort mentality displayed throughout the year has been outstanding. When things got tough, this team dug deeper. When challenges arose, they responded together. That's what has brought them to this moment.

A special acknowledgement must also go to our Reserve players who have continually stepped up when called upon. Their commitment, support and willingness to put the team first has played a massive part in helping Black Hammer reach this stage of the competition. Every player in this squad has contributed to the journey.

Now, one final hurdle stands between this team and a place in the Grand Final.

Let's pack the sidelines, make some noise and get behind our boys as they defend home soil and fight for their season.

UP THE HAMMER. UP THE MAGPIES.

MANUKAU U14 SOUTH SAINTS

The journey started with a group of young men from different schools, different backgrounds and different paths, brought together for one purpose — to represent the Manukau Magpies with pride.

In their very first season together, our U14 South Saints have achieved something special.

From the first preseason session to now, the growth, development and commitment shown by every single player has been outstanding. They have learned what it means to work for one another, trust the process and wear the jersey with pride.

Tomorrow, they write their names into the history books as the first Youth Boys team from our club to reach an A-Grade Grand Final.

This achievement doesn't happen without the people working tirelessly behind the scenes. A huge acknowledgement to the staff who have poured countless hours into this group:

🏉 Coach – Nela Kava
🏉 Manager – Priscilla Kava
🏉 Assistant Coach – Lai Peo
🏉 Trainer – Mino Lauaki
📸 Social Media – t0ppix

Your dedication, sacrifice, commitment and belief in these boys have played a massive role in the success of this team.

The coverage, support and exposure this team has received throughout the season has been incredible, helping showcase the talent, culture and brotherhood that exists within this group.

Tomorrow is not just another game. It's the one that matters most.

One final challenge. One final opportunity. One last job to do.

We are incredibly proud of what this team has achieved and the way they have represented our club, their families and our community.

Go out there, trust each other, enjoy the moment and leave everything on the field.

UP THE MAGPIES!

🖤 In Loving Memory of Flynn Tongiahoe 🖤

It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the sudden passing of our beloved U10 Magpies Coach Flynn Tongiahoe

Flynn was a valued and respected member of the Manukau Rugby League Club whānau. His journey with the Magpies began through Kozi Kai, the business he proudly operated as our club tuckshop. Before long, Flynn stepped into coaching, leading his grandsons and their teammates in our 2025 U9 Magpies side, and this season continued his dedication as coach of our U10 Magpies team.

Flynn's commitment, encouragement, and genuine care for our tamariki and club community will never be forgotten. He gave his time selflessly and made a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Our thoughts, love, and deepest condolences are with his beautiful wife Lini, Grandsons Kairo & Lyzius, Flynn's whānau & our U10 Magpies families.

Funeral arrangements will be shared in the coming days.

Your presence around the club will be truly missed

Rest in Love Flynn 🖤
