Auckland Pairs to Matthew and Tessa!!

On Saturday Auckland hosted our final championship of the year, the Auckland Champ Pairs. With 21 teams entered there were many difficult draws. After 4 rounds of qualifying 9 teams qualifed for post section.

The 4 teams that made the semi finals were Matthew Foster and Neil Gash, Matthew Farquhar and Tessa Farley, Matthew Ellis and Anthony Mcquoid and Bruce Magee and Sharyn Helluer. Foster and Farquhar won both their semis and progressed into the final.

In the final it was a tight contest with Foster holding the win in the last end until Farquhar played a great bowl to take the victory.

Well done to Matthew and Tessa for taking out the title for 2026.

That wraps up our championship season for 2026. We look forward to doing it all again next year!!

AUCKLAND INTERCLUB COMING SOON!

On Thursday 3rd September Auckland will be hosting the interclub at Western Hall, Portage Road

Each team will consist of four people playing Fours, Pairs and Triples or Singles.

Please note clubs can enter as many teams (consisting of Four players) as they like into this event. Your singles player must be nominated on the google form.

The winner and runner up will represent their club and the Auckland Centre at super club on the 11th October. Entries are $32 dollars per team.

AUCKLAND INTERPROVINCIAL (WELCH) TEAM NAMED!!

Auckland is happy to announce the team that has been selected to travel down to North Taranaki Centre Hall, Belt Road, New
Plymouth to compete in the Interprovincial Division One (Welch Trophy) which is to take place from the 28th – 30th August 2026.

The other centres Auckland will be playing against consist of Tauranga, Waikato, Hutt Valley (defending champions), Ashburton and Canterbury.

Good luck team. You guys will do great!!

AUCKLAND FOURS TO REED AND CO!!!

On Saturday Auckland Hosted our Champ Fours for 2026.

With 4 qualifiers we had straight semi finals with Alex Reed, Anthony Ouellet, Jean-Claude Fuller, Tracey Brayshaw playing John Kidd, Angie Newton, Glenis Kidd, Don Fremlin in one semi while in the other semi it was Matthew Foster, Matthew Farquhar, Tessa Farley, Ray Wyatt versing Jim Paterson, Garjeet Rai, Brian Coutts, Faye Emery.

Team Alex and Team Matthew won their respective matches to face off in the final.

The final was tight for most of it until a kill by team Foster on the penultimate end allowing Alex and Co some breathing room on the last end to take out the title for 2026!!!

Congratulations to Alex, Anthony, JC and Tracey for their win this year!

Well done to all who played this year. Look forward to seeing everyone at our last Auckland Championship (Auckland Pairs) in just under 2 weeks time!!!

AUCKLAND JUNIORS PLACE THIRD IN MEMBREY PEARCE!!

On Sunday our juniors went down to Hamilton to play in the Membrey Pearce for the first time in a few years.

All our juniors gave it their all and came a really commendable 3rd place out of the 5 centres entered in the tournament.

For these juniors it was their first bowls event out of Auckland so it was an awesome effort and they should all be super proud.

Well done guys, we hope to see you playing in more events in the future!!
