Some pieces of scooter history are more than just magazines, they’re time capsules.

These original scooter magazine issues represent a period when our sport was still finding its identity. Here in New Zealand, the passion has always been real. Long before social media took over, riders waited for the next magazine to land, reading every page until it fell apart.

One of the highlights of this collection is the very first edition of French Toast, signed by members of the MGP team during their 2011 New Zealand tour, along with the signature of Max Peters from 2011. It’s a genuine piece of our sport’s history and a reminder of an era that helped inspire so many riders.

A huge thank you to Maui Koopu for entrusting me with these pieces to preserve as part of our Scooter Museum. That trust means a lot. The goal has always been to make sure important parts of our history don’t disappear into storage boxes or get lost over time.

Every old magazine, signed page, catalogue, and rare part tells the story of how scootering grew in New Zealand. Preserving these isn’t about nostalgia.. it’s about making sure future generations can see where the sport came from and appreciate the people who helped build it. Max Peters Maui Makino Koopu

The history of scootering deserves to be remembered.
