Following our club raffle last week, we would like to sincerely thank Rod Gabb and GCO Fuels for their generous sponsorship of our fuel voucher prizes.

Rod, from GCO Fuels, is also the Marist delegate to the ARU and a highly respected rugby man whose ongoing commitment to the game and support of the wider rugby community is greatly appreciated. His generosity played an important role in the success of our raffle.

Congratulations to all 3 winners🥳

Firstly, on behalf of the Papatoetoe Rugby Club, I’d like to sincerely acknowledge all who supported our club raffle. We feel very grateful to be part of a community that cares for each other.

Secondly, we’d like to acknowledge the Fundraising Committee for the tireless effort in delivering a successful club raffle and of course to congratulate the winners;

1st prize:
$1000 petrol voucher | Elisala Maseafa | Ticket Number 187

2nd prize:
$500 petrol voucher | Sila Iona | Ticket Number 432

3rd prize:
$300 petrol voucher | Moe Mataafa | Ticket Number 360

Thirdly, we need to advise our Club community of the fact that an Executive Committee member was unfortunately subject to a theft on the morning of the raffle draw during which $3,000 was stolen. The matter was reported to Police.

While this has obviously reduced the total amount of money earned by the Club, it is important to note that the Club achieved a net gain that will benefit our community, that all tickets sold were entered into the draw and all prizes have been awarded.

As a Club we are currently working through a process of resolution and this includes a review of the way in which money generated from raffles is handled in the future.
