Hey everyone, if you know of any badminton clubs out there that need software for running Club Nights you should seriously consider - Best Club 4 Everyone software - https://bc4e.net/. We have been using this software for over 2 years now, and our members love it. It is also super cheap - incredible value for money. In the rare times that we've had any issues, Michael has also provided us superb support.

On Saturday we had our regular challenge (now twice yearly) with Titirangi Badminton Club https://www.facebook.com/TitirangiBadmintonClub
This time we hosted the event at our club, and it was an awesome morning of tough close badminton. They arrived with the trophy, and this time we managed to come out on top 28 games to 12. All games were played in a great spirit, and we had a great lunch afterwards (thanks to Leanne and Jon). We look forward to the next challenge at their club.
Here's a few pics of the day:

Today we had our annual challenge with https://www.facebook.com/TitirangiBadmintonClub at their clubrooms. It was a fantastic day with great games (even though the courts were a bit slippery with the humid wet day!) and a great attitude by all players. Titirangi were also fantastic hosts putting on a nice spread.
And the result... Titirangi managed to beat us by 24 games to 16. So they retain the cup they won from us when they visited us last year.
We had such a great time, we've agreed to have this challenge twice a year from here on out. So later this year, we'll have the chance to get the Cup back!
Here's some pics from the day.

Due to the large number of people coming to our Tuesday and Thursday 7pm club nights, the Orewa Badminton Committee has made the decision to no longer allow casual visitors to come to Club nights. This is to ensure our members get enough games when coming to Club nights. This applies immediately from this Tuesday evening onwards. Thanks for your understanding!

Hey Club members - we're currently looking for a cleaner for our hall. It's about 5 hours per week.

Hi Everyone
Due to the increasing number of instances where the front door is either propped open with shuttles/tubes and other paraphernalia, as well as being completely left open overnight on some occasions, we are installing an alarm on the front door with CCTV coverage as well, to avoid these situations.
From tonight, whenever the front door is left open for more than 30 seconds an alarm will go off.
This alarm will reset/stop when the door is closed/locked by the magclamp.
Major user groups will have a time allowance, after which the alarm process will reactivate.
Hence please close the door and if the alarm goes off, it is your reminder to ensure the door is fully closed/secure.
Regards

Everyone, last Tuesday we celebrated the retirement of Noeline Kingston from the Trust that manages the hall and our Club Committee. Noeline was instrumental in getting the hall built and our entire club up and running. Noeling started fundraising for a hall in the 1970s with Housie evenings, raffles, sellling sweets and more. And thanks to her determination and persistence the hall was finally built in 2001.
So we all owe Noeline a debt of gratitude for the critical role she has played in bringing our wonderful dedicated badminton hall to the Hibiscus Coast.
Thank you Noeline, and we wish you a long and relaxing retirement.
See attached some photos of our presentation of thanks to Noeline with her son Rex also attending.

Just a quick update to remind everyone that we are not taking any new casual players at Club Nights until we get back to Orange COVID-19 level. Also, we are not accepting any Casual bookings either at this time.
