IMPORTANT NOTE RE HANDICAPPING ON 9 HOLE SCORES:

If you're only playing 9 holes, it's highly recommended that you hold onto the card and make it an 18 hole score by playing off the other 9 holes in a future game, to complete the card before returning it.

It's a minor technical issue that will be resolved when we get new cards, the STANDARD SCRATCH on the current cards isn't 'balanced'. The difficulty of the holes is meant to be equally distributed on both 9s. It means if you return a 9 hole score your handicap won't be adjusted accurately.

Just hang onto the card until next time you play, do the other 9 and return an 18 hole card.

Also, please make you cards as tidy as possible. We're accumulating a few that aren't making much sense and they eventually go in the bin if we can't figure out who the players are on the card.

Many thanks!

Congratulations to Shane Pynegar who broke 80 for the first time yesterday. I played with him and saw him turn potential disaster into success on the 17th.
He took one club too many and hit his tee shot long into the bush.

He took a penalty, chipped up and sank the putt for an awesome 4!! Eventually going on to par the last and shoot an excellent 79.

Remember, it's never over until it's over!!!

Great focus and determination.

New target, 75???!!!

Fourteen players attended the annual GREENKEEPER'S thank you and tournament at GBI Golf club today.
The course extreemly beautiful and the banter rife lol.

A crazy tournament where you hit from the first, over trees to the third or take the safe option around and so on…. I prefer the circus option 😂 though it didn’t quite work out for me it worked out for Dave who blitzed the field and took home a win!
Steve came a respectable second and Mal won the prize for ‘never mind there’s always next year’ lol.
Thank you so much to all the wonderful volunteers whom afford so much time to our course, Marg for the lovely lunches and all those whom participated in a fabulous fun day!

On Sunday, I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the GBI SHOOT OUT. Although the day began somewhat chilly, the camaraderie among players was warm, ultimately giving way to a bright and entertaining day. Notable highlights included impressive chip-ins on the 4th hole and Dave's remarkable recovery shot from the rough onto the green. The tournament format involved all players starting from the same tee, with the lowest scorer eliminated at each hole until only two players remained for the final showdown on the 18th. This format tests both nerve and skill, occasionally influenced by luck. In cases of tied scores, players engaged in a chipping contest, with the closest shot to the pin determining the remaining player. While the day was lengthy, it was filled with laughter and enjoyment. Pete Harris and I ultimately advanced to the final, securing first and second place.
Great day had by all.
Thankyou to the organisers 🙏❤️🏌️‍♀️🍾
