🟤🟢Under 16 Boys🟢🟤

The U16 Boys were tested right until the final whistle in a thrilling Club Day clash against the Mt Albert Lions, coming away with a hard-fought 24-22 victory.

Our boys had a slow start, with back-to-back errors allowing the visitors to race out to an early 6-0 lead. Rather than letting the game slip away, the team stayed composed, trusted the process, and worked their way back into the contest

to eventually take the lead.

The match turned into a true arm wrestle, with both sides trading momentum throughout the second half. With just two minutes remaining, the Lions regained the lead and looked set to steal the win. But the Greyhounds weren't finished. Spotting an opportunity out wide, our outside backs created the space for second rower Journey, who dived over in the corner to score the match-winning try and secure the win.

A fantastic display from the boys, who never gave up and were rewarded for their efforts.

What a performance from our Under 17 boys, who showed incredible determination to come from 10-nil down and secure a hard-fought 16-10 victory over the Mangere East Hawks on home soil.

Facing a Hawks side that were sitting inside the top 4 heading into the fixture, our boys refused to back down. Their resilience, teamwork, and commitment saw them turn the game around and earn a well-deserved win in front of our home supporters.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Mt Albert for partnering with Glenfield to form this combined U17 boys team. Their support has been instrumental in ensuring these young players had the opportunity to take the field this season, and we truly appreciate the collaboration.

Well done, boys! We can't wait to get behind you again when you return for your next home game in a few weeks' time.

🟤🟢U11 Hound Dogs🟢🟤

What a fantastic Club Day performance from our Under 11 Hound Dogs, who put on an exciting display of rugby league in front of our home crowd, coming away with a dominant 86-12 victory over Te Atatū Roosters Red.

The boys played with plenty of energy, teamwork and confidence, scoring some outstanding tries while backing it up with strong defense across the park. It was a great team effort and a performance they can all be proud of.

🏆 Fair Play – Maddox Tupaea

Maddox took the ball to the line with confidence, played some great eyes-up footy, crossed for a couple of well-earned tries, and backed it all up with solid defense. Awesome work, Maddox!

🏆 Best Defender – Soane Sinisa

Soane's defensive reads were outstanding, and he made his presence known from the opening whistle with a bone-crunching tackle that put the Roosters on the back foot right from the start. Keep it up, Soane!

🏆 Player of the Day – Adam Drotini

Adam stepped into several key positions at halfback and ho**er and was outstanding throughout the match. He created opportunities out of nothing, repeatedly breaking open Te Atatū's defensive line and setting up several runaway tries. A well-deserved Player of the Day performance—well done, Adam!

All the teams U6-U13, U16 and U17 played at home today and we had our first full Junior Prizegiving for 2026.

We hope everyone enjoyed their day and managed to eat some of the yummy food and drinks that were available.

Well done to all the lucky people who won a bucket raffle or a meat pack.

Thank you to the Greyhounds Committee, Coaches, Managers, players and families that helped make this day a success. We hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.
