At the SATHIO GROUP Australian Open last week, Joshua Ho received his BWF Umpire certificate!

After passing his assessment last year, the Australian official finally has the certificate in hand, and the moment means a lot:

"Reaching this milestone is a testament not just of the hours, days but years of honing my skills as well as the unwavering support, advice and wisdom from family and friends, colleagues and mentors along the way.

I cherish the opportunity to contribute & grow our sport of badminton, also making the game fair for the players whether they're juniors or the major stars on the world tour circuit."

Badminton Australia players are taking on the world across Europe and Asia this week, with competitors in a World Tour event, a Para Badminton International, and a Future Series!

What a week!

It takes a team, and BOC showed up in Sydney to support President Loke Poh Wong in his role as Event Director of the SATHIO GROUP Australian Badminton Open 2026. Secretary General Julie Carrel served as Deputy Event Director, while staff members Megan and Krystal were also on the ground assisting and soaking up the World Tour Super 500 experience.

Congratulations to everyone involved in making it a fantastic event! 🌏
