16 teams took to the green yesterday in sunny but very breezy conditions. Interestingly there were no 3 game winners! Several teams scored 2.5 but the big (π€£π€£)prize-money went to the 2 teams who did not miss a beat.
1st: Donna and Jane β 4 wins/21 ends
2nd: Sam and John M β 4 wins/19 ends
Judy from Summerset St John's was with us again and flagged their open days β each Wednesday this month 10am-2pm. These are a great opportunity to view this stunning new complex with several SHBC members already in residence. π
@ Bryan Chapman: Do hope the body is not too sore today in the aftermath of your massive drive!

Donna and Paul played over the weekend in the National 1-5 Singles Champ of Champs. The event, organised by Auckland Bowling Club rather than Bowls Auckland, ran somewhat under our radar and we apologise for the lack of advance notification. It was organised by Paul Neazor from Auckland Bowling Club who did a fantastic job creating a brilliant weekend π.
Both Paul & Donna qualified for the final 16. Paul lost his first match but played in the plate and came runner-up. Donna progressed through to the semi final of the championship where she lost to Crawford from Glendowie who won the tournament. ππ. Thank you very much to their markers, Michael Gibson and Jane Seagar.

Despite the threatening rain, 18 teams turned out for the second round of our 2-4-2 competition yesterday. However, after early drizzle, the odd patch of blue appeared by lunch time enabling a full day of play to be completed.
No 4 winners this week so the 6 teams with 3 wins were all in the mix for the first three places with just 3 points separating the winners π±.
1st: Graeme & Amy β 3 wins|21 ends|34 points
