New Zealand Invited to World Archery-Korea Archery Association Youth Invitational

Archery NZ is pleased to announce that New Zealand has accepted an invitation to take part in the inaugural World Archery-KAA Youth Invitational, to be held in Incheon, South Korea, from 10–14 August 2026.

This prestigious invitation-only event has been created by World Archery and the Korea Archery Association to bring together some of the world's most promising young archers. Nations were selected based on world rankings, with exclusive invitations distributed across continents, making participation a significant achievement and recognition for New Zealand archery.

New Zealand has been invited to compete in the Compound Men category, with the following athletes representing New Zealand:
Corban Thorpe
Hector McNeilly
Henry Bishop

The team coach will be:
Riku Van Tonder

The event combines international competition with joint training opportunities, providing athletes with valuable high-performance experience alongside some of the strongest youth archers in the world.

Recognising the importance of this opportunity for athlete and coach development, Archery NZ is proud to support the team's participation.

Congratulations to Corban, Hector, Henry and Riku on this outstanding achievement. We wish them every success as they prepare to represent New Zealand on the international stage.

China within reach of maiden World Cup gold at Antalya 2026 China won compound men’s team bronze at stage two in Shanghai.

The weekend development program went perfectly, with all the students learning a lot of useful archery knowledge in a fun environment. Everyone was eager to sign up for the next lesson 😃

Thank you again to all the participants. Shooting 120 arrows in around three hours is definitely a test of both skill and endurance. Everyone performed exceptionally well.

There will be another warm-up shoot in July, and hopefully, more practice like this will help everyone achieve good results in the official tournament ✊🏻
