This year, I will be implementing a strict policy regarding our "dirty horse" fee. To ensure a smooth and efficient clipping process, I recommend bathing your horse with a dishwashing liquid or a product specifically designed to cut through grease—rather than purely cosmetic shampoos. Additionally, using a body brush to thoroughly clean the base of the coat the day before your appointment will yield the best results. Please also cover your horse with a clean cotton sheet afterward.

If your horse arrives dirty, greasy, or wet, I reserve the right to either halt the clipping process or apply a $35 "dirty horse" fee. Should I need to discontinue services due to these conditions, or if sedation is necessary, there may be additional travel or time charges incurred.

Please note that prepayment is required for new clients. If you need to cancel your appointment, please keep in mind that cancellations made within 48 hours will incur a fee of 50% of the clipping cost, while cancellations made within 24 hours will be subject to a 100% charge.

When standard shipping is chosen for a rural address, the courier still charges us the rural surcharge. We often end up subsidising shipping just to keep things moving — and it frequently costs us $25+ to send orders to the South Island.

We absolutely don’t mind doing our bit, but as a small NZ business we can’t absorb those costs every time.

So from now on, if a rural address selects standard shipping, we’ll flick through an invoice for the rural surcharge before we send your order out.
