๐Ÿš— Driving Tip: Longer Vehicles Need More Space

Longer vehicles like vans, SUVs, and trucks need more space to manoeuvre and stop safely.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Allow extra following distance
๐Ÿ‘‰ Take wider turns when needed
๐Ÿ‘‰ Give yourself more room when changing lanes
๐Ÿ‘‰ Remember: the longer the vehicle, the more space it needs!

Drive smart. Drive safe. ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’จ

๐Ÿš— DRIVING TEST TIP: HAZARD COMMENTARY DRIVING! ๐Ÿ‘€

During your driving test, hazard commentary can show that youโ€™re actively observing the road and identifying potential risks.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ What to comment on:
โ€ข ๐Ÿšถ Pedestrians or cyclists near the road
โ€ข ๐Ÿš— Cars approaching, turning or changing lanes
โ€ข ๐Ÿšฆ Intersections, traffic lights and crossings
โ€ข ๐Ÿš™ Parked cars where someone could suddenly step out
โ€ข ๐Ÿซ School zones and busy areas
โ€ข ๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธ Roadworks, narrow roads or changing road conditions

๐Ÿ’ก TIP: Donโ€™t just say what you see โ€” explain the hazard and what youโ€™re doing about it.

For example:
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ โ€œPedestrian near the crossing, so Iโ€™m slowing down and preparing to stop.โ€

๐Ÿ‘€ See the hazard. Say the hazard. Take action.

Drive smart, stay alert and show the examiner that youโ€™re thinking ahead! ๐Ÿ’ฏ

Be Patient at Traffic Lights!๐Ÿšฆ๐Ÿš—

Green light? Donโ€™t rush! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Take a moment to:
โœ… Check your surroundings
โœ… Make sure the traffic ahead is moving
โœ… Keep a safe following distance
โœ… Stay calm and patient

Remember, getting there safely is more important than getting there quickly. ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿš— Driving Tip: Know When to Merge

Merging is all about timing, awareness, and confidence. ๐Ÿ‘€

โœ… Check your mirrors and blind spot.
โœ… Match the speed of traffic.
โœ… Signal early to let other drivers know your intention.
โœ… Merge smoothly into a safe gapโ€”donโ€™t stop unless itโ€™s absolutely necessary.

Remember: A safe merge keeps traffic flowing and helps prevent accidents. Drive smart, stay calm, and be courteous. ๐Ÿ™Œ

A โ€œdid not passโ€ isnโ€™t a reflection of who you are as a driver โ€” itโ€™s just feedback. Most learners who donโ€™t pass first time are missing small things: hesitation at roundabouts, observation checks, or just nerves getting the better of them on the day.

Thatโ€™s exactly where we come in.

At Day n Nite Driver Training, we specialise in helping retry students turn setbacks into passes. Our NZTA-approved instructors will pinpoint exactly what held you back, rebuild your confidence behind the wheel, and get you test-ready โ€” for real this time.

โœ… NZTA Approved Driving Instructor
โœ… Safe Dual-Control Vehicle
โœ… Personalised coaching based on your last test

From โ€œnot this timeโ€ to โ€œnailed itโ€ โ€” your next chapter starts in the driverโ€™s seat.

๐ŸŒซ๏ธ Driving Tip: Stay Safe on Foggy Roads

Fog can reduce visibility in seconds, so adjust your driving to the conditions.

โœ… Reduce your speed and increase your following distance.
โœ… Keep your eyes moving and scan the road ahead for hazards.
โœ… Stay calm, avoid overtaking, and make smooth steering and braking movements.

Stay patient, stay visible, and always drive to the conditions. ๐Ÿš—๐ŸŒซ๏ธ
