It’s always hard to watch them go to a new home 😢

Three starts from the last row and three podiums. Race 2 at 9:30 this morning was the scene of my best race ever. I stalled the bike at the start and by the time I got her restarted (thank God it’s a Suzuki) the field had already cleared T1. The red mist in the helmet took over I chased them down and by the penultimate lap I took 3rd on the main straight riding around a M1000RR ✊✊ and setting a new personal best 2.3 seconds faster than my previous. Darkart Motosport (thanks for the assist) dialled it in perfectly. Race 3 I got off to the best start of the weekend taking 3rd halfway down the back straight but I only managed one more fast lap and backed off after making a small mistake and just cruised around to finish on the box. I am super proud of the results this weekend because Motofest is the biggest event in motorcycling on the North Island and to race in front of a huge crowd and get their applause was a special feeling. Thanks to Teresa for letting me be me, Leah and Ben for all help and moral support. Also Leroy for making sure we got her dialled in. All this and not a single new tyre used ✊✊✊

Day one done and dusted. Missed qualifying due to a “technical issue” with the bike and got to start from P13. Thanks to a decent start off the line and the lack of experience in the field I took third position in turn 2 and managed to hold on till the flag. Super happy to get onto the podium. Thank you Leah and Ben for your help 🙏🙏. Now for this old man to soak in the bath 😂

I’ll be racing at Rd 3 of NZSBK Championship this weekend. Friday test day followed by 2 days of track action. Pop in to the garage to say hi if you are at the races.
