1 MONTH TO GO ~ NZAIMS GAMES 2026
The countdown is officially ON!

In just ONE MONTH, 161 GEIS students will proudly represent our kura at the NZAIMS Games, the largest intermediate age sporting tournament in Australasia!

Across 20 different sporting codes, our athletes are preparing to represent Glen Eden Intermediate with pride.

But what people see at tournament week is only the final chapter. Behind the scenes, there has already been a HUGE amount of mahi, early mornings, after-school trainings, fitness sessions, school exchanges, weekend commitments, team meetings and plenty of hard work. Our teams and individual athletes are putting in the work to make sure they arrive ready to compete!

And none of this happens without an amazing community behind them. A massive THANK YOU to our volunteer coaches and managers who give up countless hours to train, organise, encourage and support our students. Your time and commitment create opportunities and memories our young people will never forget.

To our parents, caregivers and whānau, thank you for the fundraising, transport, fees, early starts, late finishes, encouragement and everything else you do behind the scenes. This journey belongs to you too.

Clocking a season's best time of 23.58s in heat two of nine to secure a non-automatic time qualifier spot for the semi-finals.

Our NZAIMS HOCKEY team have been on the grind

They had an awesome opportunity in the holidays to train with NZ Black SticksHolly Pearson and Grace O Hanlon.
Every Tuesday night they take the long trek across to Albany hockey stadium for the Nth Harbour tournament.

The preparation and commitment from our management Tim Clulow and Aden Cartwright with the support of our whānau is top tier 💯

SPARTANS sports camp, our final GEIS team to take on the competition in Matamata

What an absolute whirlwind of a week at Sports Camp! We are bursting with pride for our incredible team of students who left everything out on the turf, court, and field.

As one of the younger teams in the competition, our students showed unmatched grit, energy, and heart. They stepped up to play over 20 different sporting codes, proving there is no challenge too big for this crew!

Out of 10 competing teams, our athletes battled their way into a massive 13 semi-finals. Because of that fierce determination, we officially placed 4th overall!

Placing 4th out of 10 teams is an absolutely amazing achievement for this young squad. The teamwork, sportsmanship and non-stop cheering for one another showed the true spirit of our school.

A massive thank you to the coaches, staff and our incredible parents who helped throughout the week and supported the team, they made this week possible.
