Six intrepid Masters graduated from our 2026 class on Sat 1 August after a grading run by Jun Shihan Ed. We are pleased to officially welcome Marion, Yaylene, Liz, Ree, Paul & Ellie to the dojo and were thrilled that every one of them turned up to the first general class on the Monday after the grading. Marion, Yay, Liz & Ree successfully graded to 9th kyu. Paul & Ellie have prior experience with Seido and have graded to 8th kyu.
Some photos (thanks Meriane) from the big day. Well done to all Masters! You are indeed never to old to be a ̶n̶i̶n̶j̶a̶ karateka.

Congratulations to everyone who graded in our general promotion on Saturday. Everyone showed great technique, knowledge of their syllabus and strong bushido spirit. Thank you to Jun Shihan Lou for creating a space for everyone to shine (and spend lots of time in plank..!) and special shout out to Ingrid and Georgia whose day started extra early with a drive down from Whangārei. Osu!

1 in 9 kiwi women+ develop breast cancer at some time in their life. That means all of us will be affected in some way... a spouse, a friend, a parent, sibling, colleague, aunty, or grandparent. The Breast Cancer Foundation do an amazing job funding research, education and care to achieve their vision of zero deaths from breast cancer. So we’re putting on our gi to throw some punches at breast cancer and raise money for the cause. Come along to a fun class followed by coffee and delicious baking. Everyone is welcome, bring friends and family too, extra points for wearing pink.
