Heads up teams! There have been a couple of minor tweaks to the NZBA competition calendar for the remainder of the season.

We’re keen to finish 2026 with a bang, so let’s get these last four comps absolutely chocka with teams. If you’ve been on the fence about entering, now’s the time to lock it in, round up your mates, and get your entries sorted. We have some well seasoned, experienced pitmasters keen to help & mentor any new teams, so if you're brand new but want to know more, please reach out!

Deep South BBQ Comp, Car show and market Duneden 2026

What can i say, that was probally the best venue we have had the pleasure of competing at, hats off to Antz Waugh and the Southern Smoked Meat team, aswell as all of the event staff and sponsors for pulling it together

We felt we had a strong cook, everything went to plan, stress levels were low and energy was high!

It was definitely the weekend for the number 1...

Miles and i had our 1st trip to Dunedin, for the 1st NZBA Competition in the area, where we finished 11th overall with 1111 total points, 11th in pork and 1st in pork ribs, with our first ever perfect score.. YEAH WE DID!!

Overall 11th
Chicken - yes
Pork ribs - 1st BABY!! 🥇
Pork - 11th
Brisket - 4th

The ribs deserve a separate post to this one, man im just over the bloody moon!

Special shoutout to everyone that gives our littlest team mate all the love and attention, the little legend comes home beaming from ear to ear and im sure hes spending his day telling everyone about all of the cool
