De-boned lamb loin chops with Pork sausage from Mapari Meats and fried beans.🤤



Chops seasoned with Intensify then rolled and tied followed by a light sprinkle of Ramrod from Rum and Que

🔥Seared for a couple of minutes either side in a cast iron pan then placed on their edges to render that fat and make the perfect lamb crackling, thus was the time I added the sausage to the pan too

I Kept rolling around on the edges until
An internal temperature in the lamb of 120f, and 170 for the snag. rested for 5 minutes sliced and served.

King of the Mountain BBQ Competition 2026 🏔️🔥 — New Plymouth! Huge thanks to Smokn Comrades and the team for another epic event! 🤘🍖

🚛💨 Friday we hitched the trailer up to the new towrig (see what I did there..) and headed for the mighty Mountain. I loathe to say it, but that thing has put the Hilux to shame 😂 Over 10 hours of heavy driving and getting out feeling refreshed is a huge win! 👌

Once at comp, we realised it had felt like an eternity since seeing the Barbecue Brothers & Sisters ❤️‍🔥 So good to catch up properly afterwards at The Corner for a few refreshments 🍻

🔥 We had a solid cook and thought things were looking promising, but got hit hard in a couple of proteins, landing us 11th overall.

🥉 Best result was 3rd in pork! This made my weekend! We haven't managed a pork trophy in over 2 years, and even then that was the only one on the shelf. Until now! 🏆🐷

🍖 Ribs were our second best, and these really played hardball when boxing up 😂 but still pulled 7th.

🏆 Massive congratulations to Cook Cartel for their GC and automatic entry into the BBQ World Cup & Expo, representing NZ in LAS VEGAS! 🇳🇿🇺🇸🔥

Rum and Que were this 🤏 close behind, just 2 points in fact, for RGC! 🥈
