Skills & Drills

Our most popular adult coaching session! A fast-paced hour designed for regular players looking to sharpen their skills, with a strong focus on doubles tactics and game-based drills.

Advanced

Tennis Xpress

Tennis Xpress is a fun and innovative beginner programme designed to get adults playing tennis quickly. Over eight weeks, you'll learn the fundamentals using modified balls, flexible court sizes, simplified scoring, and easy-to-follow coaching methods that build confidence while having fun.

Whether you've never picked up a racquet or you're returning to the game after a break, Tennis Xpress is the perfect place to start.

Cardio Tennis

Cardio Tennis is a high-energy, fun, and social tennis fitness programme suitable for all ages and abilities, even if you've never played before.

Each session combines tennis activities with fitness-based exercises to deliver a fantastic workout while improving your tennis skills. Your coach will tailor activities to suit all fitness and playing levels, making it enjoyable for beginners and experienced players alike.

Office Administrator

Mid Canterbury Tennis
Oak Grove, Ashburton

Permanent part time (up to 18 hours per week).

We are seeking an experienced Administrator to play a critical role in providing administrative support to our organisation. You will have a pleasant personality, be a good communicator and be a quick learner who can pick things up easily, someone who is accurate and holds their work to a high standard. Proficiency in Microsoft office, especially Word and Excel, would also benefit your application. This role will suit an administrator who is capable of working on their own in an efficient manner. An interest in Tennis and/or experience in sports management would also be an advantage.

With tennis being a seasonal sport, the role also has seasonal elements with the winter period being less onerous. Occasional attendance at weekend tournaments is also required. (approx 3 per year).

Hours, to some degree, can be flexible. The period leading up to the start of the season tends to be the busiest.

Some of the responsibilities include:
• General office administration
• Receipting and Banking
• Managing grant funding applications
• Posting news and events through social media
• Website and Facebook maintenance
• Board minute secretary (3rd Monday 7.30pm approx. 2 hours)
• Membership database management
• Administrator of tournaments
• Administrator of Junior Tennis

Clubspark / Mid Canterbury Tennis / Hot Shots Hot Shots lessons are designed for children of all abilities & those new to the game aged 5 years or older.  Hot Shots is played over lower nets, across the court using small racquets and special balls.
