This weekend we celebrate a special milestone as Kate Whyte takes the field for her 50th Senior Women’s game for Celtic RFC.

A true Celt through and through, Kate has been part of the club for as long as most can remember. Celtic has always been home, and she’s proudly worn the green throughout her senior rugby journey.

Her dedication, commitment, and loyalty to the club have made her a valued teammate, club member, and role model both on and off the field. The Whyte and Hurley family’s connection to Celtic continues today, with her son proudly pulling on the green in our JAB grades.

Kate now becomes just the second female player in Celtic RFC history and in Mid Canterbury to reach the milestone of 50 Senior Women’s games—a fantastic achievement and one she should be incredibly proud of.

Congratulations, Kate, on 50 senior games. Thank you for everything you’ve given to Celtic RFC. Here’s to celebrating this milestone and many more games in the green! 💚

Our Sea Snakes are back at Celtic this Friday as we take on Rakaia in our final game of the season. We’d love to see plenty of support on the sidelines as the girls finish the year together.
