Sadly our Queenstown womens triples have been knocked out in the quarter finals today by Carlton Cornwall Bowls. Hats off to you ladies for getting so far.

Congratulations our Queenstown women's triples. Through to the quarter finals on 3 wins and no losses. All the best for tomorrow ladies. There will be a big shout out on facebook and by email tomorrow should you get on television and / or in the medals. Go well.

Sadly our Clyde Triples men have failed to qualify in the National Champion of Champions. They had a good win over a qualifying team from Johnsonville today however needed 3 wins to qualify. There are only 5 teams out of the 21 entered that have qualified. Should be some cracker games tomorrow from 11.15am on Sky Sport 6 and You Tube with the Waihopai team of Sheldon, Craig and Craig already securing at the least, a bronze.

Bowls NZ Workshop 26 & 27 August

The workshop is between 10 am and 4pm both days and we think it will be beneficial to all our clubs and our planning for Central Otago going forward to have as many of our members and administrators as possible attending. You can watch it all or choose.

10.00am 1. Installation of a new type of grass that is robust and designed for high-traffic and extended playing seasons, Parklands BC.
10.40am 2. A carpet green conversion project that replaces the aggregate base with a concrete slab, for longer life, Te Kauwhata BC.
11.20am 3. Treating/cleaning artificial carpets to extend their life.
12.00pm 4. A club with two artificial greens and two canopies, the story behind it, Orewa BC.
12.40pm 5. Mesh shade cover over greens, a new alternative option as our summers get hotter.

Close matches today for our Omakau Women Nikki Milne and Debbie Jackson in the Champion of Champion pairs at the Bowls Hastings.

After two good wins yesterday, they came up against some closer games today. First up was Martinborough BC with a loss 17-19 shots. Our women then got through the qualifiers with a one shot win on an extra end to the highly rated team of Kirsty Hill and Janine Wiki from Takaroa BC. (Kirsty just won the women's singles a few weeks ago)

Nikki and Debbie then played in the round of 16. against the Waihi Beach RSA BC team. A loss on the final end of one shot sadly has knocked them out of the competition. So close.......

Our best wishes to Debbie Jackson and Nikki Mine from Omakau playing in the Women's pairs Champion of Champions at Bowls Hastings commencing on Friday 14th. Their first game is at 11.30am. Good luck and go well from all of us.

Well done Dave and Alister. Just missing out on qualifying with a loss of 14-16 to Whangamata BC in their final game tonight. Two good wins over Kaikorai and Te Karaka. Great work.
