I had the pleasure of taking this lovely couple out on a trek this afternoon. It was a stunning late ride and although the horses wanted to eat lots on the way to the beach and Vienna come up a bit lame my customers were still super grateful for the experience. It’s people like this that make this trekking worth it ❤️ thank you Karen and Aniceto
Paula, an experienced rider from Germany joined me on a trek this afternoon.
I nearly cancelled it as after all this wind and rain Dobby and Dude were freaking out at everything as I got them ready. But by the time Paula arrived they had settled right down.
I am so glad because it was an absolutely stunning afternoon and as always Dude was a good boy although a little more keen than usual 😀

Thank you to today’s trekkers that braved the four seasons in one day weather. From warm sun to icy wind to rain and rainbows - we had it all!!
Our youngest rider today was only 4 years old and she was super confident with no complaints during her 1 hour ride ❤️

Been a bit quieter than normal here at Ahipara Horse Treks - it’s that time of year.
However, I have had a couple of people ask me about confidence building seasons which has me thinking it could be a way of keeping the horses occupied and fed during these quieter months 🤔
So please make contact if you are interested in confidence and skill building sessions.
These sessions are not a trek, they will involve the whole experience of catching, grooming, tacking up, safely mounting, riding, untacking and releasing horse in a safe environment on one of our super safe horses - all guided and supported by one of our experienced team.
These sessions will be tailored to suit your personal needs ie
- Overcoming a previous bad experience;
- Wanting to learn basic skills;
- Thinking of buying a horse and want to learn horse ownership skills and horse health;
- Older rider wanting to return to riding
