Bagels and beyond hostel

the wall we made today...

bamboo being the primaries material used for walls, floors, furniture for café and hostel interior to make bunk beds, tables, chairs , sofas, doors, cabinets and even light lamp conductors we are sure that along with bamboo we used recycled steel and the old building to build on top of the foundation on the ground floor.
- All bamboo artist live at a incredibly close distance of under 900 meters and hence they all have walked for months to complete the construction of this project.
- No power tools were used by bamboo artist, old school traditional methods, technics and non-power tools to make every thing.
- All bamboo we used was grown in Shenza, a bamboo growing district and brought in two trucks to Pokhara covering roughly 160 Km.
- We used natural untreated bamboo free from chemicals and used salt baths/cure to make it ready for the hostel and dry it naturally. For all construction related to bamboo.
And we have used recycled steel from scrap collectors to built this experimental eco friendly hostel.... i hope i can complete this project and make this the first eco friendly hostel of Nepal...
