Nepal in the Era of Physical AI 🤖🇳🇵

As part of Yantra X Thematic Discussion during Sunwayians Innovation Fest, RAN and Sunway College Kathmandu hosted a thematic panel bringing government, academia, diaspora research, and critical voices into one conversation on physical AI.

Prof. Dr. Hon. Sudan Jha (National Planning Commission) opened with the government's push on physical AI, robotics in public services, disaster response, a drone corridor network, and even astro- and herbal-tourism.

Mr. Sanjaya Poudel (MoSTI) shared the upcoming Science, Technology and Innovation Act and a planned call to back scalable innovator ideas — plus the reality of building tech partnerships with major powers like China and the USA.

Dr. Bal Krishna Bal (Kathmandu University) walked us through KU's robotics club, IoT labs, the new CDPIAI centre, and curriculum and NLP work to make physical AI speak Nepali.

Mr. Niraj Pudasaini (NYU Embodied AI & Robotics Lab) brought a global research lens — humanoids, manipulation, reinforcement learning — and a candid gap analysis on research culture back home.

Dr. Dovan Rai (Body and Data) pushed the room to think hard about data governance and accountability as physical AI systems come online.

The audience matched the panel's energy — sharp questions on geopolitics, reinforcement learning, and closing the research gap.

RAN's commitment stands: An intelligent robotics industry for Nepal by 2045. Let's build it together. 🚀
