Our home based workers are preparing 1000 cotton fabric bags for a government office, showcasing the quality of locally handcrafted products while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities. This order reflects the value of empowering women through meaningful work and supporting ethical, locally made alternatives.

Fifteen home based workers and local women from Bungamati and Khokana successfully completed a 15 day Dhaka Weaving Training, gaining hands on skills in traditional weaving from loom preparation and pattern making to colour combinations and fabric design. Their dedication turned first time learners into confident weavers.

The training was organized by Sabah Nepal with support from the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Transport, Bagmati Province, and conducted in Bungamati, Ward No. 22, Lalitpur, from 15–30 June 2026. We extend our sincere appreciation to Ms. Deu Maya Limbu (Master Trainer) and Ms. Bhabi Pun (Sub Trainer) for their invaluable guidance throughout the program.

Together, we are strengthening livelihoods, empowering women, and preserving Nepal’s rich Dhaka weaving tradition for future generations. ❤️

This panel will shine a spotlight on workers who remain largely invisible in due diligence efforts—including homeworkers and waste pickers. The discussion will explore how due diligence can move beyond the factory floor, with concrete strategies to identify informal economy workers, adapt approaches to informal settings, and strengthen protections through laws and policy frameworks.
