Olympic Day Junior Golf Tournament: Sushant, Yeshwi, Aaroha and Srisha win titles

KATHMANDU, June 21: Sushant Kandel, Yeshwi Shrestha, Aaroha Neupane and Srisha Kandel won the titles at the Olympic day Junior Golf Tournament at the Royal Nepal Golf Club on Sunday.

Sushant won the boys’ U-18 section trophy with 15 points. Nirjal Shrestha finished second with 14 points, while Tarus More was third with 12 points. In girls’ U-18 section, Yeshwi won the title with 12 points. Riju Rai finished second on count back. She was tied on five points with Anusha Mainali, who came third.

Aaroha won the boys’ U-14 category title with 12 points, while Birsan Rai came second with 11 and Lasan Shakya was third with six points. In girls’ U-14 section, Shrisha Kandel won the trophy on count back. She was tied on five points with Suhabhi Bastakoti, who finished as runner-up. Adriti Thapa was third with three points.

A total of 30 players took part in the competition which was played over nine holes. The tournament was orgnaised by Nepal Golf Association under the auspices of Nepal Olympic Committee on the occasion of Olympic Day.

Chief Advisor at the Ministry of Education and Sports Siddhi Byanjankar, Royal Nepal Golf Club President Madhukar Yakthumba, and NGA Member and RNGC Lady Captain Arshiya Banu among others handed over prizes to the winners.
