Navigating all this novelty feels as exciting as it is stressful.
There are days when I feel so overwhelmed I can’t do anything.
Days when I find refuge in tending to my plants or doing laundry. Those predictable chores where there’s no ambiguity. No uncertainty. No fear of not being able to provide for my family.
And then I come to our classes.
I see you.
We move together.
You feel better.
I feel better.
Because coming to work doesn’t feel like going to work.
We come to do THE WORK together.
The Pilates work that resets our bodies and our minds.
No one forced us to be there.
We’re there because we choose to be.
So when I look back at my corporate career, I realise:
I miss the stability.
But I don’t miss the work.
Because maybe all those years were preparing me for the work I do today.
The creative director in me is still here.
I still create.
I still observe.
I still solve problems.
I still care deeply about how people feel.
I just create in a different way now.
And somehow, this work feels more like me.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t have days when I doubt everything.
Days when I wonder if I made the right choice.
Days when the uncertainty feels heavier than the excitement.
Days when I worry about what I’ve said no to, and whether I’ll regret it.
Maybe that’s the strange thing about starting over.
You can be deeply grateful for where you are
and still miss what you left behind.
You can know that something feels right
and still be scared.
I think both can be true.
So, no. I don’t miss the work.
But I do miss the certainty.
And I’m learning that maybe choosing a life that feels more like mine means learning to live with a little less of it.

My mission is to spread the same help I got from Pilates during pregnancy to as many women as I can.
This is me trying to summarise in the snappiest way possible what that help looked like.
Come work with me in Drammen Studio Lille Drammen and Fornebu Michelle Thoresen and online (schedule shared under request).
Questions? Send me a message. I love questions and I love meeting new women😊
Love,
Vic

There’s something different about a personal Pilates session.
Today I met a new client who had never done Pilates before. My favourite!
We moved between the Reformer, Stability Chair, Spine Corrector and the mat. But the equipment wasn’t the most important part.
The important part was that the whole session was built around her.
The things she told me about her body and her goals.
What felt good.
What felt challenging.
What she needed more of.
That’s the beauty of individual sessions.
There’s no trying to keep up with the person next to you.
No wondering if an exercise is right for your body.
No “I’ll do it because everyone else is doing it.”
Instead, we can slow down, explore, adjust and go deeper.
And when you find the right movement for your body, something shifts.
You leave feeling stronger, more connected and a little more at home in yourself.
Because Pilates should meet you where you are, not ask you to fit into someone else’s practice.
If you’re curious what that could feel like for your body, I’d love to work with you.
I offer solo and duet sessions at Moov, Studio Lille and Fornebu, as well as online and at home.

Today’s Postnatal Pilates class had it all.
Babies who slept through the entire class.
Babies who napped for 8 minutes.
Babies who needed their mums because they were hungry, teething, frustrated, or simply didn’t want to be left alone.
No two classes are the same.
As no two days of motherhood look the same.
Maybe today you made it through the entire Footwork series without being interrupted.
Tomorrow, you might get 10 minutes more.
And that’s okay.
Baby steps. Literally.
This is a whole new world. Not just for your baby, but for you too.
You’re both learning. You’re both adjusting. You’re both growing.
We’re not here to force anything to happen.
We move at their pace.
We move at your pace.
We meet somewhere in between.
Because growing up can be scary.
But you don’t have to do it alone.
Postnatal Pilates every Monday and Thursday at 13:00 at Studio Lille Drammen.
Come as you are. Baby and all.
Love,
Vic
