Learn to Fly is celebrating its 5-year anniversary!
.and says goodbye to you all.

When: august 30th
Where: sportcentrum Mariahoeve & full moon city
Time: 13hrs -15-hrs badminton and drinks
Who: for everyone that ever played at ltf or taken part in ltf events
Dresscode: wear your LTF shirt!!

Five years ago, a wonderful adventure began… and together we have experienced so much.
Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we are no longer able to give Learn to Fly the attention it deserves.

We look back on beautiful memories, like
🌍 special badminton trips, such as to Albania with Gysi
🤝 great collaborations with, among others, NOC*NSF and the City of Paris
🏸 the installation of Let’s Play nets in The Hague and our contribution to sports participation
🏆 and of course the fantastic performances of our players — during the most recent NJK, no fewer than 15 prizes were won by (former) Learn to Fly players! We are incredibly proud of that.

But above all, we are proud of the people who have made Learn to Fly what it is: players, parents, coaches, volunteers, and everyone involved.

We would like to close this wonderful period on August 30th from 13:00–15:00 at Sportcentrum Mariahoeve with a relaxed afternoon full of badminton, memories, and good company. We therefore invite you to an informal tournament with some snacks and drinks.

Still not had enough of us afterwards? 😉 Then you can (at your own expense) join us to continue the celebration at Full Moon City.

📩 You can sign up by sending us an email or a message via WhatsApp.
Please also let us know if you will be joining us at Full Moon.

Here’s to new chapters ahead! ✨
Best regards,
Tak & Eefje 🧡🏸

✨ Stichting Learn to Fly bestaat 4 jaar! ✨

“I won’t be a rock star. I will be a legend.” – Freddie Mercury

𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 This week, Tak Ling is heading to Vejen, Denmark, for the second phase of her Advance Coach education. Coincidentally, that’s the exact same location where Eefje will be one week later, taking on the role of head coach at the Badminton Europe Summer Camp

𝐓𝐚𝐤 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐄𝐞𝐟𝐣𝐞 Were often asked whether they still work together. The answer is simple: yes. Learn to Fly continues to exist as a non-profit organization. In recent years, we’ve proudly worked on a number of projects – from international collaborations with
Futbol Mas and NOC*NSF in Paris to clinics in Senegal, and from installing Let’s Play nets in The Hague to supporting local community initiatives. In the years to come, we hope to keep making this kind of impact – both locally and internationally.

At the same time, there have been some changes. Eefje recently relocated to Almere, where she is in the process of starting a new company within the badminton world. As part of this journey, she’ll be traveling across Europe over the next five weeks. Curious to follow her travels? You can do so via on instagram

Meanwhile, Tak Ling is organizing training sessions in Capelle aan den IJssel and Den Haag, where she launched new locations. A recent video shoot marked the start of this exciting new chapter.

From September onwards, we’ll be teaming up again in Mariahoeve. We’ll be coaching a steady group of eight players(group is full) across two courts. We’re grateful to Veni and Richard De Visch Eijbergen for making this possible.

Our love for badminton, music and a love for a good glass of red wine plus the joy of working together.

We often hear that our training sessions are different — and that is appreciated.

(Bottom of the page)
Tak Ling and Eefje are both head coaches and founders of Learn to Fly. From the age of 12 to 18, they were part of the national team. Eefje became Dutch junior champion five times.

Quote from Tak Ling:
"Most badminton coaches are former players or parents who do it on the side. But we are both top-level athletes. Eefje has a background in education, and I come from healthcare. Thanks to our elite sports experience and our pedagogical backgrounds, we approach their child differently — and parents truly appreciate that."
