🇳🇱 DJ CURTEEZ. Dertig jaar achter de decks. 🎚️

Begon begin jaren negentig op Curaçao, op zijn slaapkamer, met een tweedehands set en een stapel vinyl, gewoon door de radiomixen na te doen. BoogieMan, de nummer één dj van het eiland, zette hem voor het eerst voor publiek.

Daarna de grootste clubs en stranden van Curaçao, mixen voor Laser 101, en eind jaren negentig naar Nederland. Medeoprichter van BuzzBin Productions, en hij coacht jong dj-talent.

Op 4 september staat hij in Villa Thalia.

🇬🇧 DJ CURTEEZ. Thirty years behind the decks. 🎚️

Started in the early nineties on Curaçao, in his bedroom, with a second-hand set and a stack of vinyl, just copying the radio mixes. BoogieMan, the island's number one DJ, gave him his first crowd.

After that the biggest clubs and beaches on Curaçao, mixes for Laser 101, and in the late nineties a move to the Netherlands. Co-founder of BuzzBin Productions, and he coaches young DJ talent.

On 4 September he's at Villa Thalia.

🇳🇱 DJ JACK draait op Cuba Libre. 🎧

DJ Jack, van Curaçao. Twee keer winnaar van de Heineken Green Synergy DJ Competition op het eiland, in 2005 en in 2006. Jarenlang resident in de bekende clubs en beachclubs daar, daarna terug naar Nederland.

Latin house, Caribbean, en een neus voor wat de zaal op dat moment nodig heeft. Een echte crowd pleaser.

DJ Jack from Curaçao. Two-time winner of the Heineken Green Synergy DJ Competition on the island, in 2005 and 2006. Years as a resident in the big clubs and beach clubs there, then back to the Netherlands.

Latin house, Caribbean, and a feel for what the room needs right at that moment. A proper crowd pleaser.

Havana, rond 1900. Cuba was net vrij van Spanje en de Amerikanen brachten iets nieuws mee: Coca-Cola. Iemand gooide het bij de lokale rum, kneep er een limoen boven uit en hief zijn glas met "¡Por Cuba Libre!"

Vrij Cuba. Zo heette de strijdkreet, zo heette het drankje, en zo heet dit feest.

Rum, cola, limoen. Meer heb je niet nodig. Behalve een volle vloer.

🇬🇧 Know where the name comes from? 🥃

Havana, around 1900. Cuba had just won its independence from Spain, and the Americans brought something new with them: Coca-Cola. Someone poured it over local rum, squeezed a lime on top and raised the glass with "¡Por Cuba Libre!"

Free Cuba. That was the battle cry, that became the drink, and that's the name of this party.

Rum, cola, lime. That's all it takes. Plus a packed floor.
