Morocco is almost here… 🇲🇦✨
The colour.
The spice.
The scent of orange blossom.
The call to prayer drifting through the air.
Warm evenings, beautiful food, hidden courtyards, ancient streets and that unmistakable Moroccan magic.
This is going to be so much more than a place we visit.
It’s going to be something we feel.
Morocco: A Sensory Adventure is almost ready to be shared with you.
The doors open Friday.
And trust us… you’re going to want to see this one. 🤎

Are the ancient texts we built an ever-evolving practice around still relevant?
Let’s do an honest review.
Walk along over the next few weeks as I break it down the way I see it.
Would love to hear your views as the conversations unfold!

KINTSUGI
The Japanese art of ceramic restoration.
When a ceramic bowl breaks, it isn’t thrown away. Instead, the cracks are carefully repaired with lacquer mixed with gold powder. Rather than hiding the breaks, they become the most beautiful part of the piece.
The bowl is not restored to what it was before.
It becomes something new.
Something stronger.
Something more beautiful because of what it has lived through.
Yoga teaches us something very similar…
We arrive on our mats carrying invisible cracks.
Some are physical - injuries, stiffness, fatigue.
Some are emotional - loss, disappointment, grief, anxiety, self-doubt.
Often our instinct is to hide these parts of ourselves, believing we should be stronger.
More flexible.
More successful.
More resilient.
But yoga doesn’t ask us to hide, it asks us to become curious.
To breathe into the places that feel vulnerable.
To soften where we’ve become guarded.
To discover that healing isn’t about pretending the cracks don’t exist.
It’s about allowing them to become part of our story.
The places where life has changed you are perhaps exactly the golden lines where your strength and beauty now lives.
✨ Embrace your golden lines ✨

🪩 Just two yoga teachers who love to mix things up 🪩
and have curated an experience blending sound and movement to “free the flow”
* a guided yoga practice that is grounded in something familiar, but with free movement sprinkles on top.
* your own set of headphones so you control the volume & experience the music your way.
* a soundtrack that will make you want to move your feet (and/or hips 😉)
* freedom to explore a practice exactly the way you want to feel it.
We are really excited to share this experience & hope you will join us. We only have a few more spaces available!

I am well aware that fasting or juicing is a little controversial. There are very mixed opinions about it, but after doing this in some shape or form for almost 20 years now, I know it’s right for me.
This season my 5-day juicing happened to coincide with a big clean out of our cellar, and it occurred to me how perfect the metaphor of a “spring-clean” works to share why I do this.
🔆RESET: Notice how much stuff we accumulate in a small storage space (or anywhere else) that we actually no longer need or want, but keep anyway? A big cellar reset helps you brutally assess whether you really need the thing or whether you’re just hoarding.
Same for me with food - I start to clutter my diet with stuff I don’t need, making me feel heavy & listless. Juicing is a way of decluttering not only my digestive system, but my head too.
🔆RESTART: When the cellar’s been cleaned out (and in our case, a new lick of paint) and all the things neatly packed & labeled, I feel an immense sense of accomplishment. It feels lighter, neater and a lot less chaotic.
Same for me with food - when I’ve completed a period of fasting, I feel an immense sense of accomplishment. My body feels lighter and more energetic, my mind a lot clearer.
🔆REFOCUS: And now that the cellar’s is tidy, I want to keep it that way, so I’m quite pedantic about what goes down there (and have a mini meltdown when a kid starts scratching for swimming goggles or dumps a bicycle pump in the “spare lightbulbs” box).
Same, of course, with food - when I resume eating after a pause, I am so aware of what I put back into my body and how it makes me feel.
So, for me, an occasional RESET. RESTART. REFOCUS holds beautiful benefits for both my body and my mind.

There is a magic that lives in the African bush that honestly doesn’t exist anywhere else in the world.
We spent a glorious two weeks connecting with family & friends, celebrating milestone birthdays and unplugging in nature.
Board games, braais, game viewing & sunsets replaced urgency & screens. The slow, simple things that mean so much more than the memories we tuck into our hearts.
Practicing here with my sister .mj and the moment captured by my love ✨
Feeling refreshed & inspired & look forward to meeting you on the mat.
