For years I’ve asked hairdressers to not layer my hair so it wouldn’t fall out while coaching but I decided to get layers on my most recent trip to .imogen and it came out looking so good! I’m glad I got photos before I was drenched in the rain! 😂

One of my favorite things about teaching the “babies” (skaters ages 3-6) is the regular use of ice markers to have fun while learning to skate! I always switch up the lessons based on the personality of the skater. For groups I usually use fish for swizzles (we can add other sea creatures or plants for other things like dips, hops, etc so we can change it from a racetrack to fun under the sea). In private lessons you can adapt even further, for example these rainbows suit Faye’s personality perfectly and she could have swizzled around then the whole lesson 😆🌈 ⛸️

And so it begins!

My nearly 5 year old daughter got her first “real skater” pair of skates!

To my ice princess: I will protect you from all of the predators running rampant in our sport, my precious little girl. We won’t let them win. Some even act like they’re an ally and want to protect girls and women, but they’re wolves in sheep’s clothing.

As long as you want to be a skater, mama is here to protect you. They won’t make us leave the sport out of fear. We will make this sport safer for all of the future generations to come.
