Sometimes a moment is filled with a stillness, a connection, and a beauty that is difficult to put into words.
Today, during our yoga practice, we took a few moments together to send love and warmth to someone dear to us, to people who could not join, and to those in the lives of everyone present who might need a little extra love, strength or healing.
We sat together in silence.
And something happened in that silence.
Perhaps it was the quiet recognition that we are all getting older. That people we love may one day no longer be here. That our own bodies are vulnerable, and that our time here is not endless.
And perhaps that is exactly why moments like these can feel so deeply alive.
We breathed.
We felt the earth beneath us.
The warmth of the sun.
The movement of the air.
The presence of one another.
The quiet beating of our own hearts.
And for a little while, there was nothing to do.
Nothing to fix.
Just being here. Together.
There is something tender about remembering that we will all grow older.
That we will all, one day, die.
That is the way.
That is the way.
And somehow, in accepting that, life becomes even more precious.
So today I feel grateful.
For this body.
For breath.
For friendship.
For the people beside me.
For the moments of silence.
For the warmth we can give and receive.
Sometimes, when we allow that warmth to move through us, it becomes something we can share with the world around us.
Thank you.
