Why does Lake use Paris Point sizing? 👟📏
Lake Cycling shoes are sized using the Paris Point system, a traditional European footwear measurement where each full size represents approximately 6.67mm.
But here’s where Lake goes a step further…
We offer half sizes, meaning each step in our EU sizing — for example, 42 → 42.5 → 43 — represents approximately 3.3mm between sizes.
That might sound like a tiny difference, but when you’re trying to achieve a precise cycling shoe fit, a few millimetres can make a big difference.
Half sizing allows you to fine tune the length rather than jumping a full size and potentially ending up in a shoe that’s too long.
And remember, getting the right size is only part of getting the right fit:
📏 Length – helped by our extensive full and half size range
↔️ Width – Narrow, Regular and Wide options across selected models
🦶 Shape – different lasts for different foot shapes
📦 Volume – because two feet with the same length aren’t necessarily the same size or shape
Don’t size up to find width. Find the right length, then find the right width and shape.
That’s why Lake offers one of the most comprehensive sizing and fit options in cycling footwear.

Summer temperatures are hotter than ever, and cyclists need to find cycling shoes to help them stay comfortable. Thankfully, wearing real leather helps feet breathe, because natural leather has microscopic pores that allow air to move and sweat to escape. This natural airflow helps by reducing the build-up of heat and moisture, making leather a comfortable choice compared to stiff synthetics.
Yes, natural leather may cost more – but what price do you put on comfort. Read our latest blog t find out more about the benefits of real leather cycling shoes.

Pro peloton influence on cycling
The fastest and most efficient position on the bike is no longer the lowest – and the sleekest and most narrow looking cycling shoes are not ideal for most cyclists either. Yes, at every level of cycling, the best bike is one built around you – unique in its design, and comfortable from the feet upwards, just as you are also unique.
Thankfully, here at Lake, we work with leading bike fitters around the world, and specialist shoe fitting experts, so that whatever you ride, you can find your perfect fit with Lake. Read our latest blog and find out more about how the pro peloton are influencing cycling fit for everyone.

Why narrow cycling shoes cause pain
Fundamentally, narrow cycling shoes do not produce more power. What they can produce is more pain, discomfort, hotspots, bunions and long-term damage to your feet.
Yes, instead of that much sought after power you can find that an excessively tight or cramped cycling shoe fit restricts blood flow, causes nerve compression, and leads to pain or numbness that ultimately reduces your cycling efficiency and power output.
Read our latest blog to find out more about the effects of ill -fitting, narrow cycling shoes, and Lake can help you to ride in comfort. Model showed is CX178.

Think you need a wider cycling shoe?
You might.
But you might simply need a different shape.
At Lake, we don’t believe every rider should fit into the same shoe. That’s why we offer multiple widths and multiple lasts. Each designed around different foot shapes and riding styles.
Whether your feet are narrow, regular or wide, the goal is always the same:
✔️ Reduce pressure points
✔️ Improve comfort
✔️ Increase stability
✔️ Help you ride further without foot pain
The best cycling shoe isn’t the widest one.
It’s the one that’s built for your feet.
Narrow:Regular:Wide - we have you covered.
