We’re thrilled to launch the BYCS 2025 Impact Report!

Across our three impact areas - Health, Equity, and Community Empowerment - we highlight our work with women (caregivers), children and local community organisations around the world. 🌎

The report shows how soft factors such as awareness, access, skills, and community support can help cycling become a real, everyday choice. It also looks ahead to 2026, as we deepen our impact in priority cities and regions, strengthen our networks, and build on what we know works.

This report doesn’t just document what we did. It shares what we’ve learned, and what becomes possible when people and organisations work together to get more people cycling.

Because when cycling reaches the families and communities who need it most, cities become healthier, fairer, and more full of opportunity for all.

The Bicycle Mayor Network already brings together 165+ local cycling advocates worldwide. In 2026, through our Erasmus+ Youth partnership, we are specifically on the lookout for young people aged 30 and under from across Europe to apply.

The Bicycle Mayor Network is growing, and we’re looking for the next generation of cycling changemakers!!!

A Bicycle Mayor is a local advocate driving cycling action in their city. There are already 165+ cities with Bicycle Mayors actively volunteering across the world.

Through BYCS partnership with Erasmus Youth, we specifically encourage young people (30 and under) from across Europe to join the network in 2026.

As a Bicycle Mayor, you’ll get:

Famílies de Barcelona, porteu els vostres infants, amics i veïns! 🚲

El divendres 3 de juliol, BYCS i organitzen un esdeveniment gratuït de Bike Bus al costat de l’Arc de Triomf, per celebrar trajectes més segurs, saludables i alegres per als infants.

Uneix-te a un gran recorregut en bike bus, gaudeix d’una revisió gratuïta de la bicicleta, bosses de regal, i els infants podran sol·licitar un casc gratuït en registrar-se.

Un bike bus funciona com una ruta d’autobús normal, però en bicicleta: infants i famílies pedalen junts per una ruta fixa, a una hora fixa, i més ciclistes s’hi van sumant pel camí.

Barcelona families, bring your children, friends and neighbours! 🚲

On Friday 3 July, BYCS and are hosting a free Bike Bus event beside Arc de Triomf, celebrating safer, healthier and more joyful journeys for children.

Join a big bike bus ride, get a free bike check, enjoy goodie bags, and let your child request a free helmet when registering.

A bike bus works like a regular bus route, but by bike: children and families cycle together on a fixed route, at a fixed time, with more riders joining along the way.

Together with our partners from Cycle for Better Health, we are proud to launch the new Cycle for Better Health video at Velo-city Conference 2026 in Rimini. 🎉

In its first 3 years, the programme has already reached thousands of children and their parents in the pilot cities of Bari, Bogota, and Bratislava. We look forward to continuing to grow the programme to more cities and reach more children over the coming years.

Cycle for Better Health is a global programme that focuses on helping children ages 6-12 in vulnerable communities be more active and healthier through cycling. Cycle for Better Health was piloted in 2024-2025 in Bari, Bogota, and Bratislava.
