What fantastic week of preparation camps we had for the this year Frans Otten stadion Amsterdam our home club!

Many returning faces, many new faces and high quality in depth schedule covering all aspects from technical physical mental and tactical aspects of the game getting the kids in peak condition for the tournament.

As always we had a huge mix of cultures participating as well as our diverse and talented coaching team leading the show. It’s fantastic to see the growth in short periods and also continue to assist the kids that have been returning to us year after year 🙏🏼

The benefits that come from all the shared experiences and playing styles is always invaluable 😎

We now kick start the tournament today and wish the best to all the players 💪🏼

Last week I managed to align coaching through the Optasia championships in London, a good moment for our development as a team and a highly valuable experience as a coach to there and live through the motions with Juan and experience first hand his responses under pressure and of course help add a more relaxed atmosphere to something that for players can be very much a solo thing when touring. The team is a few people so we all contribute but as your coach it’s great to see the developments that are happening so keep it up Juan! We take the positives and be honest about the lessons and change needed to continue growing. It was for sure an insightful week! Let’s keep growing together and good luck at El Gouna 💪🏼

And so we have it the Amsterdam PSA Challenger 2026 champions have been decided!! 👏

The whole week we saw some fantastic squash on display in Amsterdam in both our men and women’s events with the finals being concluded on Saturday afternoon to a packed crowd 😎

Last weekend brought the end to another incredible journey through the intensity of junior competition as myself and team coached many great kids through the open 2025.

There were many great performances, new partnerships created and lots of returning faces who trust in our philosophy. However one family and our journey together will last in my memory for a lifetime!

At the end of June, Juan and Maria joined us in Amsterdam with their smiley, keen and talented son Esteban. From their arrival their warmth and openness for the journey ahead together felt special!

From our first training and preparation camps together myself and Esteban started building our relationship and maximizing what can be gained in a 3week period together with an outcome that exceeded our expectations 😎

Esteban not only performed fantastically in both the Dutch junior open and the European open but became boys under 13 champion in both!!! 🏆🏆 the last event he came back from 0-2 against a fantastic challenger in Mauricio Trisano to take the match 3-2, a true testament to his character and a test of his family’s nerves! 😅😂

During the match nerves were limited to keep calm and clarity so that focus and presence could exist and give the best chance for the great outcome which became a reality - Double champion! 👏

It’s important to explain this journey was about growth and development and maximizing that. I was an English coach with a Spanish speaking student who spoke some English …better than my Spanish I would like to add!

This was more than just Squash but a focus on personal development and the bigger picture of life and helping shape Esteban for the future.

Now I cannot take full credit for Estebans results as he came as a player with qualities already. A credit to his team back home for their hard work and his loving family who invest into him daily. It was a big investment to come from Colombia to Europe for this special trip!

It was such a beautiful journey as a coach that was built on trust and on this occasion gave the rewards 😊 This won’t be the last challenge for Team Rich and Esteban but for now well done Esteban enjoy it 🙌
