Architect and executor
Every detail carries two hands. A vision from the architect, translated into stone by us.
Design decides where a material should sit, how it should meet wood, light, another surface. Ex*****on decides how precisely that decision holds, down to the millimetre.
Working closely with the architect, from first drawing to final fit, is what allows a corner like this to feel inevitable rather than assembled.

Traditional marquetry, reworked.
For the reception of the The St. Regis Budapest we returned the Klotild palace’s original residents to stone. Princess Maria Klotild and Archduke Joseph Karl of Austria, reimagined as the hotel’s welcoming hosts.
designed the composition from the original portraits, translated into stone through the Offcut Puzzle technique we developed together.
Remnant slabs pieced back into a single composition, each one positioned to reveal the character of the stone.

In progress. Cloudy honey onyx, cut for a bath, a vanity and drawer fronts, all from the same stone. Something is coming from Ibiza.

From raw-edged onyx to precision-cut travertine. From deep black marble to shahan dark.
We source, cut, and finish to spec, until the material and the space feel inevitable together.
A selection of sinks. The full collection runs to over 600 stones.

came by the warehouse last month.
It brought us back to Egypt, to Echoes of the Infinite, installed among the pyramids on the Giza Plateau. Three monumental formations in marble, onyx, travertine, and quartzite. Forms that align with the pyramids from a distance and open into labyrinthine pathways up close.
Working with Alex on this was different. Her visual language is fluid, colour-forward, alive and here she pushed it into something heavier. Ancient matter. The blue lotus, celestial navigation, the scarab.
Symbols that have been carried by stone for thousands of years, now shaped by hand in our warehouse.

Calacatta marble, bookmatched floor to stair. Every slab selected from the same run, so the veining moves through the space without interruption, floor, treads, curve and all.
Every bookmatching option was presented as a digital dry-lay before a single cut was made. What the client chose is exactly what exists.

Beyond the surface.
A mountain holds more than stone. It holds colour you haven’t named yet. Texture that took 400 million years to form. Patterns no one has seen until the first cut is made.
We go to the source. Not to take, but to discover. Every quarry is an archive. Every slab, a revelation.

What happens to the stone that doesn’t make it into a project?
Last year, together with we puzzled. ‘Offcut Puzzle’ turns warehouse offcuts into new patterns for floors, walls and furniture. Nothing wasted. Everything reworked.
Stone remnants are scanned and rebuilt into seamless designs, ready to be shaped into many kinds of projects. Marte Mei creates the design, and we contribute our materials, expertise and production.
Elements of this work are now part of Marte Mei’s solo exhibition ‘Mending Lands’ at Antwerp, a glimpse of what this collaboration can become at scale.
