It was a very nice ride to the Mirador and along the beach. Zacharia is a very good guide. We loved it very much and we recommand it to every one.

We had great fun with great people going up to the view point on the Volcan Madera yesterday. The peace and tranquility combined with the view over the island gave us a surreal feeling of facts and fantasy. We couldn't help thinking is this real? We love the mother Madera!!

Welcome to Zac's Horse Tours! We are situated in Madronal village (one kilometre toward Balgue from Santa Cruz), municipal Altagracia, Isla de Ometepe, Nicaragua. We offer horse riding tours to Ojo de Agua, to Mirador on Volcan Madera, to the beach and petroglyphs. Our horses are much loved and well looked after. We hope to create happy and fun riding memories for all of our customers. We also offer home made ice cream, smoothies, kombucha (fermented tea) and muffins. Our ice cream is made with all local products and there is no artificial ingredients in any of our goodies. We have one room to rent if you wish to come and enjoy our hospitality.

This is the beautiful view from the Mirador on Volcan Madera. The tour takes between 3-4 hours depending on the pace of riding. Best time to go is early in the morning or late afternoon for the sunset. The price is $24 USD + entrance fee $1 USD. The service of a guide is included. With a bit of luck the howler monkeys will entertain you with their calling.

Zac's Horse Tours to a caiman rescue. Last summer dried Istiam river up and left many caimans searching for water. This friend had walked two kilometres and ended up near our house. Zac kept it in our garden overnight and next day we made him a hammock and rode 6 kilometres to take him to a place where he could survive until the rainy season started again.
