The management and staff of UECOB Sports Academy congratulates Nigerian star, Ademola Lookman and Chiamaka Nnadozie for emerging the African Player of the Year and the Women's goalkeeper of the year at the prestigious 2024 Confederation of African Football Awards.
The Atalanta forward had a sensational year, dazzling fans with his incredible skill, blistering pace, and clinical finishing.
Lookman was instrumental in both his club’s success in Serie A and Nigeria’s qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Similarly, Nnadozie played a pivotal role in Nigeria’s impressive campaign at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and was instrumental in Paris FC’s historic run in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, where her heroics in penalty shootouts earned global acclaim.
At UECOB SPORTS ACADEMY we believe this recognition is a testament to the hard work and tenacity of both players; which is the philosophy we inculcate in our wards.

*Abia Young Star Wisdom Okechukwu Arrives in Spain for Football Trials with RC Celta's Youth Academy*

Rising football talent, Wisdom Okechukwu, has arrived in Spain for trials with the youth academy of RC Celta, a prominent football club in La Liga. Okechukwu's journey marks a significant step in his promising football career, as he aims to make a mark on the European football stage.
Eighteen Year Old - Wisdom was discovered by FIFA-licensed football agent, Kenneth Ogbuehi, during a scouting program. His impressive skills and passion on the field caught the attention of Ogbuehi, who facilitated the young star's trial opportunity with RC Celta's academy. Okechukwu is a product of the UECOB Sports Academy, where he honed his skills and developed his talent under the guidance of experienced coaches.
In a chat with the UECOB Sports Academy media team, Wisdom said, "I am grateful for this opportunity and excited to show what I can do. I have worked very hard to get to this point, and I will give my best during the trials.
Kenneth Ogbuehi, who played a pivotal role in Okechukwu's journey, expressed his confidence in the young player's potential, stating, "Wisdom has the talent, and determination required to succeed at the highest level. I believe if he is disciplined, this trial with RC Celta is just the beginning of a great football career for him."
The management of UECOB Sports Academy also congratulated Okechukwu on his progress and wished him success in his trials. "We are proud of Wisdom's achievements so far. His dedication and hard work have brought him to this stage, and we are confident that he will excel in Spain," said Ifeanyi Okoye, a representative of the academy.
Wisdom Okechukwu's journey from Abia State to Spain is an inspiring example of how dedication, talent, and the right guidance can lead to remarkable opportunities in the world of sports.
