Akwa Ibom’s Etoro Bassey has continued her remarkable rise on the Nigerian tennis circuit, securing a place in the final of the 2026 DavNotch National Tennis Open with another commanding performance.

The George Essien Udom Family (GEUF) Tennis Academy star swept aside former champion Blessing Omotayo 6-1, 6-3 in the women’s singles semi-final to book her spot in the title match.

The achievement marks Bassey’s second consecutive appearance in the final of a senior national tournament, the first time in her career she has reached back-to-back national finals.

She will now face familiar rival Success Ogunjobi in a rematch of last week’s CBN Tennis Open final, with another national title on the line.

The championship match will be played at the Tennis Complex of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
