I once confronted one marketer on the efficacy of these herbal products. He said it can cure all ailments. I then ask him if he knows what is lebrosy. All he could say was that as long as it is sickness, it will be cured. I told him he is taking advantage of the financial limitation of his patrons. Drug that has gone through best standard practice of clinical trials has not been ascribe that status of wonder drug let alone this that you don’t know the chemical content. All these are possible because of the poverty Africans have found themselves.
So in trying to circumvent these challenges in life, a process of self empowerment has to be charted from the formative years of a child. If a child is academically gifted, encourage his educational pursuit to the highest level, if not and he is in the rang mediocrity, after secondary education, he should purse vocational training. Even the so-called university graduates, what percentage use their certificate to earn a living. I once came across a post graudate diploma student at a newstand. He could not pronounce UZBE KISTAN. Some whose calling is not geography don’t know the locations of some countries. There was a master degree holder who don’t know were FIJI ISLANDS IS.
The bottom line of this is not to denigrate others, but to identify your strong point and develop on it. Nigeria oscillate between 9th and 12th position in terms of number of professors. See were we are.
Every youth should chat to live his life positively. For the males, by 28 - 35years, you should be ready to marry. I advice you limit the number of children as we no longer lives in the agrarian age where children were can asset in your farming business. Avoid ostentatious life style of belonging to various social clubs where money is spent frivolously. Please note that your physical capabilities start to depreciate from age 45 and by age 60, if your vocation demand physical exertions, negativity sets in.
In Nigeria context, a man has no business paying school fees by age 70. So you don’t have any reason to father a child when you are above 45. These are some of the style of some in advance countries that enhances above average standard of living.
Young Nigerians, did you know the average life expectancy of Nigerian male is 54 years, while Japanese average life span is 84. Food for thought.
