🏐Junior Results – Saturday 29th August

What a fantastic morning of netball from our juniors! There was plenty of enthusiasm, teamwork and improvement on display across all grades, with our players continuing to build their confidence and skills leading into the final weeks.

🏐Nettas

🏆Player of the Day: Olivia Decaria
Olivia was recognised as our Nettas Player of the Day after a fantastic game where she showed some great shooting and attacking work. She stepped up in GS and scored a couple of goals, all while working hard around the circle. Olivia also showed good marking, with arms up, and was excited to stay involved in the play, demonstrating a growing understanding of her role in the team and on the court.
She has a carefree approach that makes her wonderful to watch, bringing her friendly and fun attitude to the game while also beginning to play with more determination and confidence. Her willingness to learn from her peers and take on what she sees around her is a fantastic sign of her development. Well done, Olivia!

🏆 Player of the Day: Bodhi Collins
Bodhi was recognised as our Grade 3 Player of the Day after putting together a great game in WA. Bodhi did an excellent job of coming forward to receive the pass and was active in creating options for teammates. Bodhi’s calling was another highlight, helping to communicate around the court and keep the play moving.
Bodhi also showed a good understanding of positioning within the circle and worked hard to find the right spaces.What also stood out was Bodhi’s calm presence on court. Bodhi’s ability to stay composed, keep working and make himself available was a big part of his strong performance. Fantastic effort, Bodhi!

🏆 Player of the Day: Kalani Christian
Kalani was recognised as our Grade 2 Player of the Day after showing confidence and consistency throughout the game. Kalani’s shooting was a real highlight, with Kalani backing herself and showing confidence when taking opportunities. Around the circle, Kalani worked well with teammates and demonstrated good teamwork, while also staying disciplined and maintaining her position.
Another great part of Kalani’s performance was the way she worked to find space when faced with tight defence. Kalani continued to move, look for options and made herself available. Kalani is becoming a reliable player for the Bakery Bombers and continues to show the value of hard work, teamwork and confidence. Well done, Kalani!

🏆 Player of the Day: Sienna Marshman
Sienna was recognised as our Grade 1 Player of the Day after another energetic performance on court. She is a fast player who works particularly well through the midcourt, using her speed to get involved in the game and create opportunities. Sienna is at her best when she is having fun, and her enjoyment of the game was clear to see this morning. She brings plenty of energy and enthusiasm every time she takes the court.
Sienna also deserves recognition for her commitment. She shows up each week, arrives on time and is always ready to get stuck into the game. She is constantly making an effort to get involved, and that hard work is being rewarded with more touches and intercepts. It is fantastic to see her persistence and effort paying off as she continues to develop her skills and confidence. Great job, Sienna!

💐Thank You ! A huge thank you to our coaches, umpires and committee for all of their effort this morning. We are so lucky and grateful to have such a wonderful circle of support around our junior players.

🏐 Junior Results: Saturday 22nd August

The sun was shining for this weekend’s junior games, and the courts were lined with enthusiastic parents cheering our players on. With plenty of energy, determination and smiles, the kids were able to give it their all, and they certainly did! All matches throughout the morning were fast, clean and full of some fantastic netball.

The main reminders from the umpires were around footwork and correct throw-ins, but overall the standard of play was excellent. The juniors are well and truly in full swing, and it is fantastic to watch their confidence, skills and understanding of the game continue to grow. If this is what they’re producing now, we can’t wait to see what they achieve before the season is out!

🏆 Player of the Day: Asta Mullen

Asta was quietly taking care of business this weekend! Finding space, delivering strong passes and making an impact at both GD and GS, Asta was always involved in the action.There was even a little shoe mishap, but Asta simply fixed it, got back up and continued playing, no fuss, no disruption, just straight back into it!
Nimble as she darts between players looking for the next pass, Asta stays focused and committed to playing the game properly and giving her best effort. A fantastic display of determination and composure!

Grade 3 absolutely flew by, with well-played games and the fantastic standard they have maintained throughout the season.After the games, our umpires reminded players about a few important things: running back behind the line for a quick centre pass, waiting for the whistle, and keeping an eye on that landing foot.
Remember, once you’ve landed, that foot needs to stay put before you send that pass flying!

🏆 Player of the Day: Liilah Mendham

Liilah had some very demanding games and worked incredibly hard for the Rockets this weekend. She knew when to drive forward, went straight into the circle and showed that players need to switch between attack and defence as fast as possession.When she takes centre, she really runs the court!
Liilah brings energy from start to finish and keeps working hard for her team throughout the entire game. She plays a mature game with an energy that certainly doesn’t seem to run out, Nice one, Liilah!

🏆 Player of the Day — Nikita Werda

Nikita has had an awesome season and is really coming into her own. Her arms were working overtime this weekend! Up in defence, deflecting balls and picking up plenty of tips, Nikita was making herself very difficult to get past. Her confidence has grown enormously, and she is becoming a reliable option for her teammates.
As GK, Nikita stands by her player, watches the ball and understands her role in the goal third. She is always ready to take the throw-ins and prepared to be that last line of defence for The Force.
And despite those arms being constantly on the go, Nikita plays a clean game and is rarely called for obstruction. That’s some impressive defensive work!

🏆 Player of the Day — Cora Bigg

Rebounds and intercepts - Cora has got them!

It’s pretty tough to get a look in when you have Cora in the circle. She seems completely casual about attention for the ball and plays with effortlessness when it comes to the game. Grade 1 looks like it is also the perfect place to have a bit of fun and muck around with friends, but once Cora steps onto the court, she knows what she’s doing.
She controls the ball beautifully and delivers strong, direct passes that find her player without interception.A great combination of skill, confidence and just the right amount of cool!

🙌 Thank You! A huge thank you to our wonderful umpires Eloise, Alba, Aurora, Asti, Charlie and Kenz, and to the committee for umpiring last weekend. As always, you help maintain a high standard of netball, and we are incredibly grateful for the time and effort you put in to support our juniors.

Our juniors are achieving some fantastic things on court, and it is wonderful to see their skills, confidence and love of the game growing week after week. Keep working hard, keep backing yourselves and, most importantly, keep enjoying your netball!

🏐 Nettas

Today was the day when the games went from finding out what to do, where to be and who to connect with, to becoming a real competition between the three teams. Players across all teams were making strong, confident passes to each other, and there was a great balance, making for some exciting netball.
Kids were marking, intercepts were frequent, arms were up quickly in defence and players were even running onto the ball! With only a month or so left, it is going to be exciting to watch the grade and competition continue to blossom.

🏆 Player of the Day: Lucas Peters
Lucas moves quickly on the court, is able to play any position and is always a contender for the ball. He finds space for his team, and his speed and understanding of positions and the court make him a valuable player for The Stars.
Lucas shows his knowledge of the game when watching the opposition's passing, attempting the intercept and following up on loose balls.
In his first game of the day, Lucas scored a couple of great goals as GS before finishing the day with some really strong defensive support for his team.
Lucas has been having a great season, and today he was awarded for his well-rounded gameplay, positive attitude and consistency. Awesome Lucas, you are doing great!

🏆 Player of the Day: Aaliyah Evans
Aaliyah is a strong, reliable and committed defensive player. Her strategy often seemed to be appearing from nowhere and slapping that ball out of there!
But today was different. Aaliyah moved onto the ball, caught it and found the best option for the pass. She was always in the right place, close to her player and ready to run for an intercept when she thought she could make it.She was ripping the ball in and quickly pushing it up and on, helping to give the game some flow in toughly umpired conditions.
What also stood out for Aaliyah today was her encouragement of her teammates. She called out words of praise to her shooters from the mid-court, helping them feel confident to take their shots, and followed up with thoughtfulness if they happened to miss.
Aaliyah was centre stage today, and it has been exciting to watch her grow throughout the season!

🏆 Player of the Day: Harrison Nobbs
After a few weeks off, Harrison was back this morning and brought with him a defensive game that was hard for the opposing teams to break. Splitting his time between GD and GA, Harrison played with composure and encouragement for the Bombers. He made great use of the mid-court and was able to help direct the flow of the ball through clever baulking techniques.
It was great to see him back on the court this morning, and the rest of the Bombers rose to play their best game with him there!

🏆 Player of the Day: Olivia Carleton
Olivia has been having an amazing season! Often choosing the shooter position, Olivia is poised, calm and skilled when it comes to the shot.In a grade that stretches over five years (players range from Year 5 students to Year 10!), there is plenty to consider when it comes to mobility, speed and confidence. Olivia has taken it all in her stride and created a great balance between keeping up with the older players as an accomplished shooter, while also being a positive role model when it comes to attitude for the younger ones.
So nice to see Olivia rewarded today, well deserved!

As we head towards the end of another fabulous netball season, it’s time for a very important reminder…

We need to give our trophies a little TLC and update them for the 2026 season. If you were lucky enough to take home a club trophy last year, congratulations, but now is the time to deliver it back.

Please give them to a committee member or drop them at the scorers table any Saturday morning.

🏐Junior Results, Saturday 8th August

It was a very wet start to the Junior games this morning, but the rain certainly didn’t dampen the enthusiasm!

As everyone rolled up and we got ready to play, the games got underway right on time. With reduced numbers, teams were mixed up and made from the players who were available. There was even a little entertainment, with umbrellas turning inside out and parents sensibly enjoying the dry comfort of their cars!

The kids, meanwhile, were far less concerned about staying dry. They kept themselves busy both on and off the court, playing in puddles, doing cartwheels and generally embracing the wet weather. Once the games got underway, the juniors showed some fantastic skills. They played with patience and control, displaying wonderful ball-handling, footwork and plenty of determination despite the slippery conditions.

Throughout Nettas and Grade 3, the players really enjoyed the relaxed and flexible structure of the morning’s games. The Nettas even finished their morning with a group splash and plenty of smiles!

🏆 Player of the Day: Azzi Morgan
Azzi is one of our younger netballers and is excited to be at games every week. Her fun, “roll with it” attitude makes her a joy to watch and allows her to confidently play any position.
Azzi is not afraid to call for the ball, move into space and chase down loose balls, and today was no different. Even in the wet weather, Azzi was having fun!
Her enthusiasm is infectious, and she is already laying a wonderful foundation at the beginning of her netball journey. She is a great example for our young players and peers, showing that confidence, enthusiasm and a willingness to have a go can go a long way.
Well done, Azzi! You have all the qualities to become an amazing player in the future.

🏆 Player of the Day: Mason Ponini
Mason was spot on today! He was poised and positioned himself beautifully inside the goal circle, confidently shooting goals from both short and long range.He showed great belief in himself and his abilities and worked particularly well with his new teammates. Just like the Nettas, the Grade 3 teams were made up of all available players, and Mason quickly found his rhythm and settled into a great flow in the mix.
As GS, Mason is tough to defend. He is constantly moving into new positions, finding spaces and gaps when they appear and making them when they don’t! His calm attitude on court helps create a relaxed environment in the circle, giving himself and his co-shooters an advantage when lining up the shot.
Mason, you did a fantastic job today. Congratulations!

🏆 Player of the Day: Lacey Ward
Lacey is a strong and reliable player in the midcourt positions. She gets in early and makes herself an option for the pass, whether helping to bring the ball up or move it down the court.She works beautifully with her teammates and consistently makes good connections through accurate passing and smart decision making.
Lacey moves quickly onto the ball, has fantastic stamina for the demanding midcourt positions and shows a quick defensive recovery with strong marking ability.
Lacey has played strongly throughout the season, and it was fantastic to see her recognised for her efforts today.
