Athletics Norfolk Island is thrilled to announce the inaugural Kingston Running Festival, coming to Kingston on Sunday 13 September 2026.

We wanted to create a morning that had something for everyone, no matter your age, pace or experience. So we've built four events into one:

🏃 5km Championship Run — for those chasing a time
🤝 5km Corporate Challenge — teams of up to 10
🌟 2km Junior Dash — ages 5 to 12
🌈 FREE 1km Community Colour Run & Walk — everyone welcome

All set against the backdrop of the Kingston World Heritage Area. It doesn't get much better than that.

Please drive with caution on Sunday 2 August because the TNT Marathon runners will be on the roads from 7am onwards.

Did you hear? Norfolk Island is getting its very own marathon! 🏃‍♀️

On Sunday 2 August 2026, runners from around the world will be making their way to our little island to take on 42.2km of our beautiful, scenic island.

The man behind it all is Don Bierer of TNT Marathons, who knows a thing or two about running, he's completed marathons in 60 countries and helped organise the inaugural Pitcairn Islands marathon.

Whilst not an official event of Athletics Norfolk Island, we are right behind it and will be supporting any local runners who wish to be involved.

The best news? It's FREE for local runners. So if you've ever thought about ticking a marathon off the bucket list, you can do it right here on island!

Big News for Norfolk Island! 🏃‍♀️🌏

Athletics Norfolk Island has been awarded the successful bid to host the 2027 Oceania Athletics Congress right here on our island!

The Oceania Athletics Congress is the highest decision-making body for athletics across our region. In April/May 2027, we'll welcome approximately 80 delegates and observers from all 20 member nations across Oceania, plus World Athletics representatives from Monaco.

This is a huge opportunity for Norfolk Island to showcase our community on the international athletics stage. Delegates from nations including Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa, Papua New Guinea, and many Pacific Island nations will gather here to set policies, elect leaders, and determine the future direction of athletics in Oceania.

We're incredibly proud to have been selected and can't wait to share our island's hospitality with the athletics community across our region.
